Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles Achieves Double Victory At Great British Fleet Awards 2025

Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles celebrated a successful evening at the Great British Fleet Awards 2025 in Milton Keynes. The company secured two prestigious titles: 'Medium Van of the Year' for the all-new Transporter and 'EV Van of the Year' for the ID. Buzz Cargo, marking its third consecutive win. These awards highlight excellence in fleet management, products, and services.

The ID. Buzz Cargo stood out due to its distinctive design and expanded options. This includes a new entry-level 59kWh variant, 4MOTION all-wheel drive versions, and the standard 79kWh model. John Kendall, Editor at Van Fleet World, remarked on its continued appeal despite increased competition from Chinese manufacturers entering the UK market this year.

Volkswagen Wins Two Awards at Fleet Awards

The seventh-generation Transporter was praised for its practicality as a work vehicle. It offers an impressive load volume of 6.8m3, a payload of 1.2 tonnes, and a towing capacity of 2.8 tonnes. The Transporter line-up includes various models like Panel Van, Kombi, Shuttle, and double-cab variants to meet diverse business needs.

John Kendall noted that both Ford's Transit Custom and Volkswagen's Transporter provide comprehensive specifications with multiple lengths and roof heights. He highlighted their good driving experience and range of power options available to users.

The ID. Buzz Cargo has been recognised for its innovative features and design for three years running. "With Chinese manufacturers launching into the UK LCV market this year, the competition in the electric van sector is hotting up," said John Kendall. "For this year though, the ID. Buzz Cargo retains our EV Van of the Year title, thanks to its expanded range and head-turning design."

Craig Cavanagh, National Fleet Manager at Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, expressed pride in winning two titles at these prestigious awards. He emphasised their delight in retaining the EV Van title while also celebrating their first award for the new Transporter model.
