Vinfast VF 6 & VF 7 Variants & Colour Options Revealed
Vinfast, a Vietnamese car manufacturer, is expanding its global reach by establishing a manufacturing base in India. The company plans to launch the VF 6 and VF 7 electric vehicles (EVs) around the festive season. Details about these models, including variants and colours, have been disclosed.
The Tamil Nadu Plant has started assembling the VF 7, with a formal launch anticipated during the festive period. Bookings are open, and the first showroom is operational in Chennai. Information on the VF 6 and VF 7 variants provides insight into Vinfast's trim level strategy.
Vinfast VF 7 Variants and Features
The VF 7 will be introduced first in India, offering three trims: Earth, Wind, and Sky. Globally, it comes in Eco and Plus trims only. The exterior colour options include Urban Mint, Zenith Grey, Crimson Red, Infinity Blanc, Desat Silver, and Jet Black. Interior themes vary slightly; Earth has an all-black interior while Wind and Sky feature a Mocha Brown and Black dual-tone theme.
A 70.8 kWh battery powers the VF 7 with either single or dual motor setups. It promises up to 496 km range per charge. The dual motor AWD version delivers up to 354PS and 500Nm torque with a swift acceleration of 0-100 km/h in just 5.8 seconds.
Vinfast VF 6 Variants and Features
Following the VF 7 launch, Vinfast will introduce the VF 6 in two trims: Earth and Wind. It shares exterior colours with the VF 7. Inside, Earth features an all-black theme while Wind offers a Mocha Brown and Black dual-tone theme.
The VF 6 is equipped with a smaller 59.6 kWh battery providing up to 470 km range. It generates up to 201PS and 310Nm torque from a single motor FWD layout.
Shared Features Across Models
Though variant-specific features are not yet revealed for both models, they are expected to share several elements. These include a large infotainment screen measuring 12.9 inches, heads-up display (HUD), powered driver's seat, dual-zone climate control system, ventilated seats, panoramic glass roof, advanced safety features like a blindspot monitor and Level-2 ADAS technology.
Tamil Nadu Plant Operations
Vinfast recently inaugurated its Tamil Nadu Plant located in SIPCOT Industrial Park at Thoothukudi. This facility marks Vinfast's third operational plant globally and its first outside Vietnam. Spanning over 400 acres with cutting-edge technology adhering to global standards; it has an annual production capacity of up to 50 thousand units which can be scaled up further if needed.
