Valet Crashes Rs 1.4 Crore SUV While Shooting Reels: Cops Did This For Settlement Instead Of Full Repair Cost
In Bengaluru, a woman faced a significant financial setback when her Rs 1.4 crore Mercedes-Benz EQE electric SUV was severely damaged. The incident occurred at a high-end restaurant where staff members, entrusted with parking the vehicle, mishandled it. This resulted in an accident that left the car's front end heavily damaged, with the bonnet crushed and large stones resting on it.
The restaurant staff responsible for the accident fled the scene immediately. Police are currently searching for them. The repair costs for the damaged vehicle are estimated to be around Rs 20 lakhs. Before approaching the police, the car owner filed a complaint with the restaurant management. However, they provided fake addresses for the staff involved, claiming they were contractual workers.
The police attempted to resolve the issue by offering only Rs 2 lakhs instead of the full repair cost. Despite this incident, the restaurant continues its operations without any disruption. The car involved in this accident is a fully automatic and electric model, which might have contributed to the mishap if the staff were unfamiliar with its operation.
The Mercedes-Benz EQE electric SUV is known for its safety features and performance. It boasts a 5-star rating in the NCAP Crash Test conducted in Europe and includes nine airbags for passenger protection. Additional safety features include ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, a 360-degree camera, and ADAS technology.
This luxury vehicle is equipped with a 90.56kWh battery paired with an electric motor that delivers up to 408 PS and 858 Nm of torque. When fully charged, it can travel up to 550 km and accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.9 seconds. Its top speed reaches 210 km/h.
The incident highlights concerns about governance and corporate negligence in Bengaluru. Reports suggest that the restaurant employees were attempting to create a social media video with the car when the accident occurred. This fascination with social media platforms is believed to be a contributing factor to this unfortunate event.
