Urban Automotive ensures that all bespoke carbon fibre parts are crafted to the highest standards by its skilled team in the UK. Their commitment to an 'OEM+' design philosophy guarantees a factory-quality finish for every modification. This dedication results in unmatched quality, style, and durability for each customised vehicle.

The successful collaboration between Urban Automotive and Heritage Customs led to Urban acquiring Heritage Customs. This acquisition will introduce a new line of accessories, parts, and interior customisations under Urban's Bespoke division. Both companies share a passion for premium vehicle customisation, focusing on high-quality bespoke parts for interior and exterior enhancements.

Simon Dearn, founder of Urban Automotive, expressed excitement about adding this exclusive soft-top version to their range. He stated: "The Land Rover Defender is one of our most popular models, so it’s exciting to add such an exclusive, bespoke soft-top version to our range." Jan-Pieter Kroezen from Heritage Customs added that merging with Urban offers new opportunities for both companies and their customers.

Strategic Importance

Patrick Meijer, CEO of AM Group (Urban’s parent company), highlighted the strategic importance of this acquisition. He mentioned that integrating Heritage into their portfolio enhances their ability to meet clients' unique desires worldwide. It adds design depth and storytelling to their bespoke offerings while strengthening their market position.

Heritage Customs was the first to convert the Land Rover Defender into a soft-top. This process requires extensive labour by experienced craftspeople who cut the donor car and reinforce it with a custom roll cage. Their expertise ensures that each conversion maintains high standards of quality and craftsmanship.

Specifications of the Soft-Top Defender

The soft-top conversion can be applied to new or pre-owned Defender 90 models. Urban's Bespoke service allows customers to personalise colour and trim according to their preferences. The exterior features include full Heritage Customs Valiance soft-top conversion, extended wheel arches, visual carbon fibre accents on various parts, and Urban branding pack.

Inside, the vehicle boasts a full interior re-trim in Hermes Orange leather with Recaro front seats and a custom Heritage Series dashboard overlay. These elements combine luxury with functionality for an enhanced driving experience.

Urban Automotive was established in 2014 as an independent vehicle modifier focused on providing 'OEM Plus' design services. Based in Milton Keynes, they specialise in carbon fibre styling kits for premium models.
