Mahindra has launched the 2025 Bolero in India, with ex-showroom prices starting from Rs 7.99 lakh. The iconic ladder-frame SUV receives mild cosmetic enhancements and added convenience features inside the cabin, while continuing with its proven diesel powertrain. With this update, Mahindra has also introduced a new top-end B8 variant, offering a slightly more premium experience within the Bolero lineup.

Design

The 2025 Mahindra Bolero features subtle exterior revisions that refine its rugged appeal. The most noticeable change is the new 5-slat grille, finished with chrome accents that lend a bolder front look. Fog lamps are now available from the B6 variant onwards, improving visibility in low-light conditions.

At the top of the range, the B8 trim gets newly designed 16-inch alloy wheels, enhancing the SUV's stance. A new Stealth Black colour has also been added to the palette, alongside the familiar Diamond White, Dsat Silver, and Rocky Beige finishes. The Bolero's signature boxy shape and upright proportions continue unchanged, preserving the no-nonsense, durable design it is known for.

Inside the cabin, Mahindra has introduced more significant updates to improve comfort and usability. The 2025 Bolero now comes equipped with a touchscreen infotainment system for the first time, replacing the earlier basic audio setup. Although it does not yet support Android Auto or Apple CarPlay, it adds a modern touch to the otherwise straightforward cabin.

Other new features include steering-mounted controls for easier operation, a USB-C charging port, bottle holders integrated into the door trims, and new leatherette upholstery for a more refined appearance. Safety remains basic, as all variants continue to feature dual airbags instead of six.

Mechanically, the Bolero remains unchanged. It continues to be powered by a 1.5-litre, 3-cylinder diesel engine that delivers 76 horsepower and 210 Nm of peak torque. The engine is paired with a 5-speed manual gearbox and sends power to the rear wheels. Mahindra claims to have improved ride quality and handling balance through tweaks to the suspension setup, aiming for a more comfortable and stable drive without compromising its rugged DNA.

The 2025 Mahindra Bolero is offered in four trims - B4, B6, B6 (O), and the new top-spec B8. Prices begin at Rs 7.99 lakh for the base B4 variant and go up to Rs 9.69 lakh for the fully loaded B8 version. The new variant brings premium features to a model long appreciated for its durability and simplicity, broadening its appeal among rural and semi-urban buyers.

The Bolero continues to stand in a class of its own. As a sub-4-metre, body-on-frame SUV, it does not have any direct rivals in the Indian market.
