Upcoming New Cars In May 2025: Golf GTI, Windsor EV, Altroz Facelift, & More

India's automotive scene is set to witness exciting developments in May 2025, as four major carmakers – Tata, Kia, MG, and Volkswagen – prepare to launch new models. That being said, here are 4 upcoming cars that are set to be launched in May 2025.

Volkswagen Golf GTI

Volkswagen plans to import only 250 units of the Golf GTI into India as CBU units by late May 2025. This performance hatchback boasts a powerful 2.0L turbo petrol engine paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox generating 265bhp and 370Nm torque. It accelerates from zero to 100kmph in just under six seconds and reaches speeds up to 250kmph.

Inside the VW Golf GTI, you'll find tartan seat upholstery, red-accented steering wheel with GTI badge, fully digital instrument cluster featuring GTI-specific graphics along with a large infotainment system running Volkswagen's latest software interface including ChatGPT-enabled voice assistant capabilities.

2025 Kia Carens

The 2025 Kia Carens will officially be available from 8th May. This MPV will feature premium upgrades and a new suffix after its name. It will be sold alongside the current Carens model. Inside, expect significant enhancements such as Level 2 ADAS, a 360-degree camera, a fully digital instrument cluster, a larger touchscreen infotainment system, and a panoramic sunroof.

Updated MG Windsor EV

In early May 2025, JSW MG Motor India will release the updated Windsor EV with a 50.6kWh battery pack. Although the exact launch date remains unannounced, this long-range variant promises a 460km range on the CLTC cycle. The vehicle features an electric motor with FWD configuration delivering 136bhp and 200Nm torque. It may also include an advanced driver assistance system.

Tata Altroz Facelift

The facelifted Tata Altroz is expected on roads by 21st May. Spy images suggest minor exterior changes like a revised front bumper and LED elements in taillamps and indicators. Inside, it might offer a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with new upholstery and door trim. Engine options remain unchanged with choices of an 88bhp petrol engine or two diesel engines producing 90bhp and 120bhp.
