Upcoming Cars In June 2025: EVs To V8s
June 2025 is set to be an exciting month for car enthusiasts in India, with several new vehicle launches on the horizon. Among these are a much-anticipated electric vehicle (EV) from Tata and three V8-powered models from Mercedes-Benz. Let's delve into the details of these upcoming releases.
Tata Harrier EV
Tata Motors is gearing up to launch the Harrier EV on June 3, 2025. This all-electric SUV was first showcased at Auto Expo 2025 and will serve as Tata's flagship electric model. The Harrier EV retains much of the design language of its internal combustion engine (ICE) counterpart but features distinct EV elements like a sealed grille, connected daytime running lights, and unique alloy wheels.

The interior of the Harrier EV mirrors that of the standard SUV with a few enhancements. It includes a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen, digital driver's display, panoramic sunroof, and four-spoke steering wheel. Additionally, it boasts new EV technology such as connected car functionality, over-the-air updates, and new terrain modes.
Built on Tata's modified Omega platform, now called Acti.ev, the Harrier EV features a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system delivering up to 500Nm of torque. While battery specifications remain undisclosed, Tata confirms that the Harrier EV achieves over 500km of real-world range based on their internal C75 test cycle.
Mercedes-AMG G63 Collector's Edition
On June 12, Mercedes-Benz will introduce the AMG G63 Collector's Edition in India. This special edition off-roader showcases cosmetic updates inspired by Indian culture and aesthetics. Developed by Mercedes-Benz India and its R&D team, this is the brand's first India-specific special edition featuring unique upholstery and bespoke paint finishes.
The mechanical aspects of the G63 Collector's Edition remain unchanged from the standard model. It continues with a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 mild hybrid powertrain producing 585hp and 850Nm of torque, paired with a 9-speed automatic gearbox and all-wheel drive. Pricing details are yet to be announced but expect it to be priced higher than the standard G63's Rs 3.64 crore.
Mercedes-AMG GT Line-Up
Later in June, Mercedes-Benz will expand its performance car line-up in India with two variants of the AMG GT: the GT 63 4Matic+ and GT 63 Pro 4Matic+. Scheduled for launch on June 27, these models offer enhanced practicality with a larger size and more luxurious interiors compared to their predecessors.
The second-generation AMG GT features a grand tourer design housing a powerful 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine paired with a 9-speed dual-clutch transmission and all-wheel drive. The GT 63 variant delivers 585hp and 800Nm while the GT 63 Pro ups it to 612hp and 850Nm along with improved brakes and aerodynamics.
Both variants boast impressive performance figures with a claimed acceleration from zero to 100kph in just 3.2 seconds. The top speed for the GT 63 is pegged at 315kph while the Pro variant reaches up to 317km/h. Expected pricing for these models starts north of Rs 3 crore.
