Ulster Motoring Writers Association Launches New Website To Celebrate 50 Years Of Service
In 1975, the automotive world welcomed the Ferrari 308, Triumph TR7, and Vauxhall Cavalier. That same year marked the founding of the Ulster Motoring Writers Association (UMWA). Over five decades, UMWA has chronicled significant events in the motor industry, with its members contributing to leading newspapers, magazines, and broadcast media across Northern Ireland.
Today, UMWA's influence extends through a wide array of print and digital platforms in Northern Ireland. The association has now embraced modern technology by launching a new website. This platform provides detailed information about its members, their publications, and contact details.

Jim McCauley, UMWA Chairman, stated that the group traditionally published a biennial Yearbook. However, to commemorate their 50th anniversary and adapt to contemporary trends, they have introduced a new website. "We thank all of the press offices that have supported us so well in the past," he said.
The website aims to showcase the extensive reach of UMWA's outlets while offering contact information for all members. McCauley emphasised that this digital shift will help maintain UMWA's position at the forefront of delivering responsible car reviews.
The launch of this website signifies a significant step forward for UMWA. It not only celebrates their rich history but also ensures they remain relevant in an ever-evolving media landscape. The new site can be accessed at https://umwa.uk.
