Troy Lee Recognised As Legend Of The Sport At The Quail MotoFest In Carmel

Peninsula Signature Events will celebrate Troy Lee, a renowned motorsports apparel designer, as the Legend of the Sport at The Quail MotoFest on May 17. This event will showcase Lee's contributions to motorcycling alongside rare motorcycles at The Quail Golf Club. Lee will display his personal bikes and merchandise and participate in a Fireside Chat discussing his career and motorcycling trends.

Tickets for the event are now available, with prices starting at $70 for general admission. VIP packages are priced at $225 and include a lunch buffet in a private area. Young adults aged 13-17 can attend for $25, while children 12 and under enter free. Monterey County residents can enjoy a special discount with tickets priced at $50.

The Quail MotoFest will feature an array of entertainment options, including live music, displays, and food and beverage offerings. Three featured classes—Italian Innovation by Bimota, Tribute to Yoshimura, and Celebrating 45 Years of the BMW GS—will be showcased alongside more than ten traditional classes highlighting various bike styles and brands.

The event kicks off with The Quail Ride on May 16. Participants will embark on a 100-mile journey through Monterey Peninsula's scenic backroads, starting from The Quail Golf Club. Troy Lee will join fellow riders on this unique ride, which includes lunch and dinner.

Troy Lee's passion for motorsports began early due to his family's involvement in racing. His father was a motorcycle racer, and his grandfather co-founded the Bonneville Speed Trials. In the 1980s, Lee pursued motocross racing but shifted focus to design after painting helmets for professional racers like Jim Busby.

In 1981, he founded Troy Lee Designs (TLD), which quickly became a leading custom helmet paint shop. Over four decades later, TLD offers stylish moto and mountain bike gear. Iconic helmets like the Daytona, SE, and D3 have been worn by top racers worldwide.
