Toyota Urban Cruiser Taisor Gets Six Airbags As Standard & New Colour Option
Toyota has recently updated the Urban Cruiser Taisor, enhancing its safety features and introducing a new colour option. The compact SUV now starts at Rs 7.89 lakh, marking an increase of Rs 12,000 from previous pricing. The top-end model is priced at Rs 13.19 lakh, reflecting a Rs 28,000 hike. This update also includes six airbags as standard across all variants.
Prior to this update, the Taisor's lower trims were equipped with only two airbags, while the higher trims had six. Now, all variants come with six airbags as standard equipment. This change aligns with similar updates made to the Maruti Suzuki Fronx, which also now offers six airbags as standard. The Fronx's price was increased by about 0.5 percent following its update.

New Colour Option for Toyota Taisor
A new 'Bluish Black' paint option has been introduced for the Taisor, adding to its aesthetic appeal. This shade resembles a darker version of the Fronx's Nexa Blue finish. The addition of this colour provides buyers with more choices when selecting their vehicle's appearance.
The Taisor continues to offer the same engine options as before. Buyers can choose between a 90hp 1.2-litre 4-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine and a 100hp 1.0-litre 3-cylinder turbo-petrol motor. These engines are paired with various gearbox options to suit different driving preferences.
Toyota Taisor Engine and Gearbox Options
The standard gearbox for both engines is a 5-speed manual transmission. Additionally, the 1.2-litre engine can be paired with a 5-speed AMT, while the turbo unit comes with a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission. A petrol-CNG powertrain producing 78hp is also available but only in the E trim level with a manual gearbox.
DriveSpark Thinks
The updates to the Toyota Taisor aim to enhance its safety and offer more variety in terms of colour options without altering its powertrain offerings. In comparison, Maruti's Fronx starts at Rs 7.59 lakh and now includes six airbags as standard equipment following its recent update. Another rival, the Citroen C3 has also seen changes in pricing, with reductions of up to Rs 1.29 lakh for certain models in its lineup and has added new C3X trim levels.
