Toyota Rumion Gets 6 Airbags As Standard - Top Trim Gets TPMS
Japanese carmaker Toyota has announced that all variants of the Rumion MPV will now come with six airbags as standard. The Toyota Rumion's updated setup now features front, side, and curtain airbags for all variants of the badge-swapped MPV.
Previously, the number of airbags varied depending on trim level. Now every Rumion-be it base or top version-gets the same high level of occupant protection. Toyota says this step reflects its focus on passenger security and road safety in India.
In addition, the top-grade V variant of the Toyota Rumion gains a Tyre Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS). Other safety equipment includes Vehicle Stability Control, ABS with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution, Brake Assist, and ISOFIX child-seat mounts.
The Rumion is Toyota's badge-swapped version of the Maruti Ertiga. Highlights of the Rumion's interior include a 60:40 split second row, and recline for the final row, along with dual-tone interiors, and dedicated air-conditioning vents for rear passengers. Exterior styling highlights include a chrome grille, projector headlamps, LED tail lamps, and alloy wheels.
Under the bonnet of the Rumion sits a 1.5-litre Suzuki K-Series engine. Buyers can choose between petrol (102 bhp @ 6000 rpm and 136.8 Nm @ 4400 rpm_and E-CNG (86.63 bhp at 5500 rpm and 121.5 Nm at 4200 rpm) fuel types. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic (petrol only)with paddle shifters. Efficiency figures stand at 20.51 km/l for the petrol manual and 26.11 km/kg for the CNG version.
Pricing spans the Rumion lineup to suit differing budgets. Ex-showroom prices start at ₹10.44 lakh for the base petrol manual and rise to about ₹13.62 lakh for the top spec V automatic variant.

Toyota offers the Rumion with a standard three-year or 100,000 km warranty. Customers can additionally opt to extend this warranty to five years or 220,000 km.
