Toyota Recognises Nearly 60 North American Suppliers For Outstanding Performance In 2024
Every year, Toyota Motor North America ('Toyota') acknowledges the outstanding achievements of its North American suppliers. Recently, awards were distributed at Toyota's Annual Business Meeting in Michigan. This recognition program celebrates both direct and indirect suppliers who have consistently exceeded expectations in various critical areas. In 2024, nearly 60 suppliers received awards across more than 20 categories, classified as Excellent and Superior, for their unique contributions.
Toyota's annual supplier recognition program highlights the company's dedication to building strong partnerships based on shared values of quality, innovation, and sustainability. Suppliers are assessed annually using specific Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). The number of awards varies each year depending on an internal scoring system. Organizations meeting or surpassing Toyota's performance goals receive these accolades.
The Total Exceptional Achievement for Manufacturing (TEAM) award was given to TG North America. Other awards acknowledged contributions to Toyota’s production launches of Tacoma, Camry, and the 5th Generation Transaxle. Additional categories included quality performance, value improvement, and technology among others.
Ryan Grimm, group vice president of Purchasing Supplier Development at TMNA, stated: "Our suppliers’ immense efforts and perseverance were instrumental to our success in 2024." He added that their performance laid the groundwork for an exciting 2025 as they continue collaborating towards future mobility.
Toyota has been integral to North America's cultural landscape for nearly seven decades. The company is dedicated to promoting sustainable mobility through its Toyota and Lexus brands and a network of over 1,800 dealerships. Toyota employs around 64,000 people in North America who have played a role in designing, engineering, and assembling almost 49 million vehicles at its 14 manufacturing facilities.
In spring 2025, Toyota’s North Carolina plant will commence producing automotive batteries for electrified vehicles. Currently offering 32 electrified options, Toyota has more electrified vehicles on the road than any other automaker.
