Most Powerful Toyota Land Cruiser Launched! Brute & Efficient
Toyota has introduced a petrol-hybrid version of the Land Cruiser 300 in Australia. This updated model not only comes with a hybrid powertrain, but it also features some design tweaks as well. That being said, the addition of this new hybrid powertrain makes the model the most powerful iteration of the Land Cruiser ever.
Exterior
The Land Cruiser 300 hybrid features slight design changes, including a unique front bumper and larger air intake compared to the standard model. It also sports HEV badges on its exterior. However, the GR-Sport variant does not receive these updates.

Interior
Inside, there are no major changes on the new Land Cruiser 300 hybrid except for an updated digital instrument cluster with hybrid-specific readings and new graphics. The infotainment system now boasts a larger 12.3-inch display, and a power outlet has been added to the cargo area.
Powertrain
This new setup produces 457hp, making it the most powerful Land Cruiser to date. The hybrid system includes a 3.5-litre twin-turbo V6 engine paired with an electric motor, similar to the Lexus LX700h. A 10-speed automatic gearbox is standard for this model.
Market Availability
The new petrol-hybrid Land Cruiser will first be available in Australia in early 2026 before reaching other markets. This move aligns with Toyota's strategy to expand its hybrid offerings globally.
Land Cruiser 300 in India
In India, Toyota recently updated the Land Cruiser 300 for the 2025 model year. It is available in both standard and GR-Sport versions, powered by a 3.3-litre V6 diesel engine producing 309hp and 700Nm of torque. Prices range from Rs 2.31 crore to Rs 2.41 crore ex-showroom. There is no announcement yet about introducing the petrol-hybrid version in India.
DriveSpark Thinks
The Land Cruiser hybrid shares its powertrain with the Lexus LX700h SUV, featuring a parallel hybrid arrangement that combines petrol and electric power efficiently. This setup not only enhances performance but also aims to improve fuel efficiency compared to traditional engines.
