Toyota Fortuner & Legender Neo Drive Launched In India At Rs 44.77 Lakh
Toyota has unveiled the Fortuner and Fortuner Legender's latest Neo Drive editions, featuring the brand's first mild-hybrid technology within the Fortuner lineup. This innovation comes with a 48V mild-hybrid system aimed at boosting fuel economy and driving dynamics.
The Fortuner Neo Drive is available for Rs. 44.77 lakh, and the Legender Neo Drive at Rs. 50.09 lakh, positioning them strategically in Toyota's product range. The former sits just below the GR-S version, and the latter now tops the Legender lineup, both prices being ex-showroom.
48V Mild-Hybrid System
The newly introduced 48V technology pairs with Toyota's 2.8-litre diesel engine, promising to enhance fuel efficiency while reducing emissions. This system incorporates a belt-integrated starter generator along with a lithium-ion battery, which together facilitate smoother acceleration at low speeds, quieter operation, and greater efficiency. The design allows for the battery to recharge during deceleration, capturing energy typically lost and adding to braking performance.
A notable addition is the Smart Idle Start-Stop feature that cuts the engine off when the car is not moving, further boosting fuel efficiency and lowering emissions. The inclusion of the Multi-Terrain Select system enables the adjustment of throttle response, braking, and traction control for optimal performance across different driving surfaces.
Enhanced Features & Capabilities
Beyond the mild-hybrid technology, Toyota has enriched the Fortuner and Fortuner Legender Neo Drive models with a suite of updates. These enhancements include the integration of a 360-degree camera and a wireless charging pad for smartphones, alongside the introduction of Neo Drive badging on the vehicle's exterior, marking the new variants distinctly.
