Toyota Motor North America Contributes $600,000 For Texas Flood Relief Initiatives

Toyota Motor North America (TMNA) and its partners are contributing over $600,000 to assist those affected by the severe flash floods in Kerr County and the Texas Hill Country during the July 4th weekend. This collaborative effort includes donations to the Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country’s Kerr County Flood Relief Fund, along with matching contributions, in-kind donations, and volunteer support.

"When disasters like this occur, it’s important to help our neighbors and communities in their time of need," stated Ted Ogawa, CEO of Toyota Motor North America. "Our hearts go out to everyone affected by this horrible tragedy. Thank you to the first responders and volunteers who are working tirelessly to assist on the front lines."

Toyota Provides $600,000 for Texas Flood Relief

The Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country is directing funds from its Kerr County Flood Relief Fund towards vetted organizations that provide rescue, relief, and recovery efforts. The fund supports communities such as Hunt, Ingram, Kerrville, Center Point, and Comfort.

Gulf States Toyota (GST), a key distributor in the region, expressed deep sorrow over the disaster's impact. Dan Friedkin, Chairman and CEO of GST, remarked on their commitment to supporting local communities during these challenging times. "We are deeply saddened by the immeasurable loss caused by the devastation from this disaster," he said.

Toyota Financial Services (TFS) and Lexus Financial Services (LFS) are offering payment relief options for customers impacted by the floods. This includes extensions and deferred payments for lease and finance customers in designated disaster areas. Affected customers can contact TFS or LFS through provided phone numbers or email for assistance.

Vic Vaughan Toyota of Boerne has also played a significant role in recovery efforts. Alongside The Vic Vaughan Family Foundation, they have made substantial contributions to aid response initiatives.

Matching Contributions and Volunteer Efforts

The TMNA Dealer Match Program allows eligible Toyota and Lexus dealers to contribute up to $10,000 towards flood relief efforts. TMNA will match these contributions dollar-for-dollar. Additionally, Toyota will double all team member contributions across the U.S. for disaster relief.

At Toyota's San Antonio manufacturing plant, team members are collecting clothing, essential supplies, food, and water donations to support ongoing relief activities. Gulf States Toyota employees also have their contributions matched through an associate match program.

Sustainable Development Commitments

Toyota's commitment extends beyond immediate relief efforts. Their ongoing sustainable development initiatives include partnerships with organizations like the American Red Cross and St. Bernard Project (SBP), which provide critical resources for disaster response nationwide.

Toyota has been part of U.S. culture for nearly 70 years and is dedicated to advancing sustainable mobility through its brands. With 11 manufacturing plants employing nearly 48,000 people in the U.S., Toyota has contributed significantly to vehicle design and assembly.

Toyota Financial Services offers retail auto financing through Toyota Motor Credit Corporation (TMCC) and leasing via Toyota Lease Trust in the United States. As of March 31, 2025, TFS employed around 3,800 team members nationwide with assets exceeding $150 billion.

Gulf States Toyota is a major distributor of Toyota vehicles in a five-state region including Texas. Founded in Houston in 1969, GST collaborates with over 156 dealerships to meet growing demand for vehicles and parts.
