The new RAV4 introduces a sixth-generation PHEV powertrain that delivers up to 320 horsepower. This represents a 20% increase in all-electric range, now estimated at 50 miles. The HEV models feature a fifth-generation hybrid system, boosting output to 236 hp on AWD models and 226 hp on FWD models.

For the first time, FWD is available on RAV4 Hybrid models. The PHEV system also sees enhancements, increasing its output by 18 hp over previous versions. The lineup expands from two to four grades in 2026, adding Woodland and GR SPORT alongside SE and XSE models.

The Core design of the RAV4 combines sleek aesthetics with Toyota's signature hammerhead front end. It features wide overfenders with black cladding and chiseled body panels. Wheel sizes range from 17 to 20 inches depending on the grade. The Rugged design is exclusive to the Woodland model, which stands higher due to all-terrain tires.

The Sport designs are led by the RAV4 GR SPORT model. Inspired by motorsports, it prioritizes handling with a GR-tuned suspension and unique wheels. The XSE and SE grades offer both HEV or PHEV powertrains with FWD or AWD options. They include blue interior stitching and two-tone paint choices.

Technological Innovations

The RAV4 debuts Toyota's Arene software platform, enabling advanced safety features like Toyota Safety Sense 4.0. A new version of the Toyota Audio Multimedia System is also introduced, featuring wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility.

A new touchscreen display enhances user experience with integrated digital HVAC controls. A standard 12.3-inch digital gauge cluster offers customizable options for drivers across all grades.

Interior Comfort

The interior of the RAV4 focuses on functionality with a smartly organized center stack that groups various functions together. Select grades feature Toyota’s shift-by-wire system for intuitive operation. Seating surfaces vary from fabric to SofTex®, with new color options like Mineral available on Woodland models.

The cockpit includes a minimalist toggle switch for futuristic appeal while maintaining comfort through soft-touch materials and vibrant accents in specific grades like Woodland.

Exterior Styling

The exterior design highlights large tires and an elevated ride height for SUV proportions. Stylish LED taillights add a tech-forward feel while enhancing width perception at the rear hatch area.

Each grade adapts Toyota's hammerhead front-end style differently through unique trim colors or wheel treatments that individualize their appearance further across different models within this lineup.

Towing Capacity

An increase in towing capacity enhances utility for specific AWD grades such as HEV XLE or Limited along with PHEV SE or XSE among others capable of towing up to 3,500 pounds compared against lower capacities found within other configurations available throughout this range offered by Toyota’s latest iteration here today!
