Toyota Launches The All-New 2026 C-HR Battery Electric Vehicle With Advanced Features
The 2026 Toyota C-HR Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) is set to make a significant impact with its introduction. This model boasts a combined system output of 338 horsepower and an estimated all-electric range of 290 miles. It features standard All-Wheel Drive (AWD) and a coupe-like design, offering both performance and style. The vehicle is expected to reach U.S. dealerships in 2026.
Built on Toyota's e-TNGA platform, the C-HR BEV combines dynamic performance with practical utility. Its compact crossover design includes a spacious interior with up to 25.4 cubic feet of cargo space behind the rear seats. The model also offers modern conveniences like a 14-inch touchscreen and customizable ambient lighting for enhanced comfort.
The C-HR BEV is equipped with electric motors on both front and rear eAxles, enabling it to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in approximately five seconds. A lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 74.7 kWh powers the vehicle, supported by an 11-kW onboard AC charger. The car can charge using Level One and Level Two AC power sources.
For faster charging, the C-HR BEV includes a North American Charging System (NACS) port compatible with Level Three DC fast-charging stations nationwide. Under optimal conditions, it can recharge from 10% to 80% in about 30 minutes. A battery pre-conditioning function ensures efficient charging even in colder climates.
The interior of the C-HR BEV is designed for comfort and connectivity. It includes dual wireless chargers, USB ports, and rear cabin air conditioning controls. An available panoramic roof adds natural light throughout the cabin, enhancing the driving experience for all passengers.
Standard features include a fully digital gauge cluster and Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 system for added safety. The vehicle also supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility through its Toyota Audio Multimedia system, which is accessible via a large touchscreen display.

The exterior of the C-HR BEV showcases a sleek coupe-like silhouette with flowing body lines that convey its dynamic nature. It comes with options for single or two-tone paint colours, including new shades like Overcast and Tandoori. Wheel choices range from 18-inch to 20-inch sizes.
Functional exterior features include a power liftgate, rain-sensing wipers, and low-profile roof rails for added convenience. These elements combine to create a stylish yet practical vehicle suitable for various lifestyles.
Safety Features and Driver Assistance
Toyota Safety Sense 3.0 provides comprehensive safety features such as Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection, Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist, and Automatic High Beams. These systems are designed to enhance driver awareness and support safe driving practices.
The Blind Spot Monitor with Rear Cross-Traffic Alert helps drivers navigate safely when changing lanes or reversing out of parking spaces. Additionally, Safe Exit Alert warns occupants of approaching vehicles or cyclists when exiting the car.
Warranty and Maintenance Coverage
Toyota offers extensive warranty coverage for the C-HR BEV, including a basic new-vehicle warranty of three years or 36,000 miles. The powertrain is covered for five years or 60,000 miles, while electric vehicle components have an eight-year or 100,000-mile warranty.
ToyotaCare provides two years or 25,000 miles of factory-scheduled maintenance along with three years of roadside assistance regardless of mileage. This comprehensive support ensures peace of mind for owners throughout their ownership experience.
