Top Mid-Size SUV Sales August 2025 — Scorpio Leads, XUX700 & Harrier Complete Podium
The mid-size SUV segment in India recorded 23,413 units in August 2025. This was a decline of 6,622 units (22.05%) from 30,035 units in August 2024 and 5,547 units (19.15%) fewer than 28,960 units in July 2025.
Sales in the mid-size SUV, ike the rest of the industry slowed down in August as customers waited for the recently revised pricing from the GST changes, first announced by the PM during his Independence Day speech.
Mahindra Scorpio/N
The Mahindra Scorpio/N sold 9,840 units in August 2025. This was 3,947 units lower (-28.63%) compared with 13,787 units in August 2024. Month-on-month, Scorpio sales fell 3,907 units (-28.42%) from 13,747 units in July 2025.
Mahindra XUV700
The XUV700 recorded 4,956 units in August 2025. Year-on-year, this was a decline of 4,043 units (-44.98%) from 9,000 units in August 2024. Month-on-month, XUV700 sales decreased 2,102 units (-29.74%) from 7,058 units in July 2025.
Tata Harrier
The Tata Harrier sold 3,087 units, an increase of 1,195 units (63.16%) compared with 1,892 units in August 2024. Month-on-month, Harrier sales rose 871 units (39.31%) from 2,216 units in July 2025.
Mahindra XEV 9e
The Mahindra XEV 9e registered 2,313 units in August 2025. This was a decrease of 149 units (-6.05%) compared with 2,462 units in July 2025. The XEV 9e is the onlu pure EV on this list.
Tata Safari
The Tata Safari recorded 1,489 units in August 2025. This was 460 units lower (-23.68%) compared with 1,949 units in August 2024. Month-on-month, sales increased 247 units (19.98%) from 1,242 units in July 2025.
Hyundai Alcazar
The Hyundai Alcazar sold 1,187 units, an increase of 82 units (7.42%) compared with 1,105 units in August 2024. Month-on-month, sales dropped 232 units (-16.35%) from 1,419 units in July 2025.
MG Hector / Hector Plus
The MG Hector / Hector Plus recorded 379 units, a decrease of 1,435 units (-79.11%) from 1,814 units in August 2024. Month-on-month, sales fell 200 units (-34.54%) from 579 units in July 2025.
Jeep Compass
The Jeep Compass sold 97 units, down 184 units (-65.36%) year-on-year from 281 units in August 2024 and 32 units (-24.81%) month-on-month from 129 units in July 2025.
Hyundai Tucson
The Hyundai Tucson recorded 57 units in August 2025. Sales of the Tucson dropped by 68 units (54.40%) YoY while MoM figures were down by 27 units (32.14%).
Volkswagen Tiguan
Volkswagen sold 8 units of the Tiguan In India last month.YoY, sales of the Tiguan dropped by 65 units (89.04%) while MoM numbers dropped by 20 units (71.43%).
