VinFast VF7: Top 5 Things You Need To Know
Vinfast has officially begun its India journey with two models-the VF6 and VF7. Of the two, the VF7 is the flagship offering, aimed at taking on established electric SUVs from Tata, Mahindra, and BYD. But what exactly does the VF7 bring to the table in India? Here are the 5 highlights of the all-new VF7.
1. Price
Vinfast announced the VF7's introductory pricing in September 2025, starting at Rs 20.89 lakh and going up to Rs 25.49 lakh, ex-showroom. This aggressive pricing undercuts rivals like the Mahindra XEV 9e (Rs 21.90-31.25 lakh) and the Tata Harrier EV (Rs 21.49-30.23 lakh).

2. Variants
ARAI-rated range: 438-532 km.
The VF7 comes in five trims-Earth, Wind, Wind Infinity, Sky, and Sky Infinity. Here's how they compare on specs and range:
| Variant | Drivetrain | Power | Torque | Battery | 0–100 kph | Range |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Earth | FWD | 177 hp | 250 Nm | 59.6 kWh | – | 438 km |
| Wind | FWD | 204 hp | 310 Nm | 70.8 kWh | 9.5 s | 532 km |
| Wind Infinity | FWD | 204 hp | 310 Nm | 70.8 kWh | 9.5 s | 532 km |
| Sky | AWD | 350 hp | 500 Nm | 70.8 kWh | 5.8 s | 510 km |
| Sky Infinity | AWD | 350 hp | 500 Nm | 70.8 kWh | 5.8 s | 510 km |
Mid-spec Wind trims offer the highest range (532 km), while even the base Earth variant provides a respectable 438 km. DC fast charging (10-70%) takes just 24-28 minutes, depending on the variant.
3. Free-Charging!
Vinfast India is sweetening the deal by offering free charging at official V-Green stations until July 2028 and 3 years of complimentary maintenance. On top of that, the VF7 comes with an industry-leading 10-year/2,00,000 km warranty for both the car and battery-making it a worry-free long-term ownership proposition.
4. Acceleration Details
VF7 AWD: 0-100 kph in just 5.8 seconds. The dual-motor AWD trims (Sky and Sky Infinity) pack 350 hp and 500 Nm, making them blisteringly quick off the line. During early reviews, the VF7 AWD managed wheelspin under hard acceleration-evidence of its strong torque delivery. Power urgency fades slightly past 120 kph, but for city sprints and highway overtakes, it's plenty capable. The FWD variants (Wind trims) are more relaxed at 9.5 seconds for 0-100 kph.
5. Tech
Some of the noticeable tech on offer include;
- 12.9-inch touchscreen infotainment with wireless Android Auto & Apple CarPlay.
- Head-up display (HUD).
- Dual-zone automatic climate control.
- 7 airbags and comprehensive safety kit (ABS with EBD, all-disc brakes, TCS, electric parking brake).
Even the entry-level Earth variant includes most of these, making the VF7 a value-packed electric SUV.
DriveSpark Thinks
The Vinfast VF7 arrives as a serious disruptor in India's EV SUV segment. Its competitive pricing, class-leading range, generous features, and 10-year warranty make it a compelling alternative to established brands. With free charging and maintenance thrown in, the VF7 is likely to attract first-time EV buyers and those looking to upgrade from mid-size ICE SUVs.
