The implementation of GST 2.0 has brought a wave of relief to car buyers across India. Diesel cars, in particular, have seen some of the steepest price reductions, making them more attractive to customers who prefer torque-rich performance and long-distance efficiency.

While benefits vary across trim levels on offer, certain models stand out with massive price drops. That said, here is a look at the 5 diesel UVs that now offer the highest GST savings.

Mahindra Thar

5. Mahindra Thar - Savings Up to Rs 1.35 Lakh

The rugged Mahindra Thar has become more accessible, especially in its 2WD diesel variants. The biggest saving is for the 2WD Diesel LX variant, which now costs Rs 1,35,400 less than before. Mahindra has also sweetened the deal further with additional benefits worth Rs 20,000 for new buyers.

Tata Nexon

4. Tata Nexon - Savings Up to Rs 1.55 Lakh

Post-GST, the Tata Nexon diesel line-up now starts at Rs 9.01 lakh. The Nexon AMT Fearless+PS DK variant sees the maximum cut, dropping from Rs 15.60 lakh to Rs 14.05 lakh - a saving of Rs 1.55 lakh. The Nexon remains a strong performer in the market, having been the top-selling subcompact SUV in August 2025.

Mahindra XUV 3XO

3. Mahindra XUV 3XO - Savings Up to Rs 1.56 Lakh

The stylish Mahindra XUV 3XO has also benefitted from GST revisions, with diesel variants witnessing cuts ranging between Rs 1.04 lakh and Rs 1.56 lakh. The AX7 and AX7L trims see the biggest reductions of Rs 1.53 lakh and Rs 1.56 lakh, respectively.

Kia Sonet

2. Kia Sonet - Savings Up to Rs 1.64 Lakh

With revised pricing, the Kia Sonet diesel now starts at Rs 8.98 lakh (down from Rs 9.99 lakh). The top-end GTX+ 6AT and GTX+ DT 6AT trims benefit the most, with price drops of Rs 1.63 lakh and Rs 1.64 lakh. Their new prices stand at Rs 14 lakh and Rs 14.09 lakh, respectively.

Kia Syros

1. Kia Syros - Savings Up to Rs 1.86 Lakh

Topping the list is the Kia Syros, which has received the steepest cuts among diesel cars. Across variants, the price drop ranges from Rs 1.15 lakh to Rs 1.86 lakh. The HTX Plus (O) AT variant enjoys the maximum benefit, now priced at Rs 15.93 lakh compared to Rs 17.79 lakh earlier.
