Three American Honda Models Earn Top Initial Quality Awards In J.D. Power Study For 2025
Three Honda models produced in the United States have received top honours in the 2025 J.D. Power Initial Quality Study. The Honda Odyssey, manufactured at the Alabama Auto Plant, and two Acura models, the Integra from Marysville Auto Plant and RDX from East Liberty Auto Plant in Ohio, were recognised for their initial quality in their respective categories.
The U.S. Initial Quality Study, now in its 39th year, gathers feedback from thousands of new vehicle owners after 90 days of ownership. It also includes data from numerous repair visits reported to franchised dealers. This comprehensive approach ensures a thorough evaluation of vehicle quality.
In Canada, Honda's Alliston Auto Plant 2 was awarded the Bronze Award for Initial Quality Assembly. This recognition was due to its production of the Honda CR-V and CR-V hybrid models. These accolades highlight Honda's commitment to quality across North America.
Acura, known for its Precision Crafted Performance DNA, offers a range of vehicles including sport sedans like the Integra and TLX, as well as SUVs such as the ADX and RDX. All Acura vehicles sold in 2024 were built in America using both domestic and global parts.
Honda has been manufacturing vehicles in North America for over four decades. Starting with motorcycle production in Ohio in 1979, Honda has expanded significantly. Today, it operates 18 plants across North America with a capacity to produce millions of automobiles and engines annually.
Commitment to Local Production
In 2024, nearly all Honda and Acura vehicles sold in the U.S. were made in North America. This reflects Honda's dedication to local production, with about two-thirds of these vehicles assembled using parts sourced both domestically and globally.
Honda's investment in North American manufacturing exceeds $25 billion since its inception. In recent years alone, over $3.1 billion has been allocated to enhance these capabilities further.
Expanding Electrified Vehicle Lineup
The company offers a diverse lineup of vehicles through more than 1,000 independent U.S. dealers. The range includes popular models like Civic and Accord sedans and SUVs such as HR-V and CR-V. Additionally, electrified options like the all-electric Prologue SUV are part of Honda’s offerings.
The introduction of a hybrid-electric Prelude later this year will expand Honda's electrified vehicle lineup further. In 2024, electrified models accounted for over a quarter of total sales.
Honda collaborates with over 750 original equipment suppliers across North America. Since 1982, it has purchased approximately $596 billion worth of parts from these suppliers.
This extensive network supports not only automobile production but also power equipment products and advanced light jets like the HondaJet.
