Tesla Model Y L Launched In China - 330,000 Yuan (Rs 41.12 Lakh), Six Seats, 751km Range
American electric carmaker Tesla has launched the Model Y L in China. The Tesla Model Y L is a stretched version of the firm's best-selling electric crossover, the Model Y L.
Designed specifically for the Chinese market, the new Tesla Model Y L introduces a three-row seating arrangement in a 2+2+2 layout. Prices for the Model Y L start at 339,000 yuan (Rs 42.12 lakh). Deliveries of the Model Y L in China are expected to begin in September.

The Model Y L has grown in size compared with the regular Model Y. The Y L's wheelbase has been extended by 150 millimetres, while the overall length has increased by 179 millimetres. The Model Y L is 44 millimetres taller than the regular Model Y. The width of the electric Model Y L remains unchanged when compared to Model Y.
Inside the cabin, the second row of Model Y L features captain seats equipped with heating, ventilation, and powered armrests. The third row on the Model Y L, which is a bench-style unit, also comes with heated seating. Both the second and third row feature dedicated vents for the climate control setup mounted to the pillars of the Model Y L.

The Model Y L also gets a few tech upgrades over the Model Y, including a larger 16-inch central touchscreen and an upgraded sound system with 18 speakers and one subwoofer..
The exterior of the Model Y L looks mostly unchanged, except for the extended section of the bodywork and redesigned 19-inch alloy wheels. Tesla has also introduced a new "Starlight Gold" colour option for the Model Y L.

The Tesla Model Y L's powertrain continues with the dual-motor all-wheel-drive system paired with an 82 kWh battery pack. The combined output of the Model Y L's dual-motor setup is rated at 340 kW (456bhp), which enables the electric SUV to sprint from zero to 100 kilometres per hour in just 4.5 seconds.
The Tesla Model Y L tips the scales at 2,088 kilograms, which is around 96 kilograms more than the standard Model Y. However, despite this extra mass, the Model Y L offers a CLTC-rated range of 751 kilometres, which is one kilometre higher than the regular long-range Model Y.
Tesla has not announced whether this six-seater version will be offered in other markets, leaving China as the only confirmed market for this stretched SUV for now.
