Ten Classic Cars From Loch Lomond Collection Set For Auction By H&H Classics
A collection of ten classic cars from the 1950s to the 1970s, known as the 'Loch Lomond Collection,' is set for auction by H&H Classics on Wednesday, 21st May. The event will take place at the Pavilion Gardens in Buxton, Derbyshire. These vehicles were carefully selected over several years, with their condition being a primary factor in their acquisition.
The collection's total value exceeds £750,000. Among these classics is a Healey Silverstone D-Type from 1950, restored by Warren Kennedy and estimated at £120,000-£140,000. This car has minimal mileage and might qualify for the Mille Miglia Storica, enhancing its allure.
The highest-valued vehicle in the collection is a 1953 Bentley R-Type 'Le Mans' Style Open Tourer by Paul Forty. Built around 2017, it was showcased at the NEC Classic Motor Show and is expected to fetch between £140,000-£160,000. The current owner acquired it during this event.
Another notable car is a rare 1960 Jaguar XK150 S 3.8 FHC. Only 150 right-hand drive versions exist, and it underwent extensive restoration by M&C Wilkinson. This model's auction estimate ranges from £90,000 to £110,000.
Paul Cheetham from H&H Classics expressed excitement about offering these cars at the Buxton auction. He stated: "It’s a pleasure to offer the ‘Loch Lomond Collection’ at our auction in the Pavilion Gardens in Buxton. The ten classics fly the flag for their respective marques, containing some which have been exhaustively restored."
The collection also features four other Jaguars: a 1970 Jaguar E-Type 4.2 Coupe (£60,000-£70,000), praised as an exceptional driving experience; a 1973 Jaguar E-Type V12 Roadster (£70,000-£80,000), one of only 1,872 right-hand drive models; a 1952 Jaguar XK120 Roadster (£55,000-£65,000), upgraded for fast road use; and a stunningly presented 1962 Jaguar MkII 3.8 (£40,000-£50,000).
Other vehicles include a fully restored 1954 Austin-Healey 100/4 ‘M’-spec (£40,000-£50,000), a rare 1966 Mercedes-Benz 250 SE Coupe (£35,000-£40,000), and a meticulously restored 1954 Fiat 500 C Topolino Belvedere (£8,000-£10,000).
