Tata Sierra EV Launch: The Iconic SUV Set To Go Electric
Tata Motors is gearing up to electrify its iconic Sierra SUV, which is set to launch by 2026. According to fresh reports, the upcoming electric variant will be offered in both rear-wheel drive (RWD) and all-wheel drive (AWD) configurations. This car will be built on the same platform as the Harrier EV.
Recently, Tata Motors has relaunched the Sierra SUV in a modern avatar, with prices starting at ₹11.49 lakh (ex-showroom). Production of the new Sierra will take place at Tata's Sanand manufacturing facility in Gujarat.

The Sanand Plant will manufacture the Sierra ICE and EV models alongside the Tata Nexon and Curvv series cars. It has an annual production capacity of 3 lakh units, and is planning to increase the capacity to manufacture EVs.
For now, Tata has launched only the ICE version of the car, which has two petrol engines and one diesel engine. This Sierra was developed on a new platform that is AWD compatible. So many thought the ICE variants would come with AWD and RWD options. However, they have to wait till 2027 to get those options.
Tata Sierra EV Launch
The Sierra EV will be built on the acti.ev+ platform, which features a multi-layer skateboard design. As we said earlier, the Tata Harrier EV shares the same EV platform. It is capable of featuring fast charging, All Wheel Drive and an advanced driver assistance system.

The Sierra EV is expected to offer a 55kWh battery and a 65kWh battery pack as options. These battery packs are already available with the Tata Curvv EV top and the Harrier EV base variants. The 55kWh battery pack is paired with an electric motor that produces 123 kW and 215 Nm of torque.
It has a maximum range of 500km and can accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in 8.6 seconds. The 65 kWh battery pack is paired with a 238 PS electric motor with 504 Nm of torque. It can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 6.3 seconds, and Tata claims it has a maximum range of 538 km.
