Spy Pics: Tata Sierra Spotted Testing — New Details Surface
The upcoming Tata Sierra has been spied testing once again in Pune. The latest test mule of the Sierra provides us with a closer look at its interior and exterior. The Tata Sierra is currently undergoing the final stages of testing before entering production next year.
The Sierra features a boxy silhouette that pays homage to the original model from the 1990s after which it is named. Other highlights of the Sierra's exterior design include a flat roof, upright stance, thick B-pillars, and squared wheel arches.

The test mule of the Sierra spotted by Rushlane, was spied riding on large, multi-spoke alloy wheels, estimated to be 19 inches in size. Other visible elements include flush door handles, extensive body cladding, and the signature rear quarter window that reinforces the upcoming Sierra's retro-inspired character.
At the rear, the Tata Sierra test mule sported slim LED tail lamps linked by a light bar running across the tailgate. Other highlights include a roof-mounted spoiler, a steeply angled rear windscreen, an integrated top wiper, and a flat boot lid that creates a layered design, with the rear bumper.

Peeking inside the Sierra test mule, we can see a wide triple-screen dashboard that dominates the cabin. The layout stretches across most of the fascia and is expected to house the infotainment display, a digital driver's display, and an additional passenger screen.
The steering wheel of the Sierra sports a four-spoke design that features an illuminated Tata logo at its centre. Other equipment expected to feature on the Sierra includes ventilated and powered front seats, dual-zone climate control, wireless smartphone connectivity, a panoramic sunroof, and ambient lighting.

Rear seat passengers are supported with dedicated air conditioning vents. A premium audio system is also expected on higher trims. Additionally, the Sierra is set to receive over-the-air software update capabilities.
Safety equipment will include Level-2 ADAS driver assistance, six airbags, electronic stability control, a 360-degree camera, and hill-hold control among many others
Engine options are expected to include a 2.0-litre turbo-diesel motor sourced from Stellantis, already used in the Harrier and Safari. Producing around 170 PS, it is likely to be paired with both a six-speed manual and a torque-converter automatic transmission.
A 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine is also under development and is expected to generate power output similar to its diesel sibling. This unit is being readied with a six-speed manual gearbox and a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic. An all-electric Sierra, sharing components with the Harrier EV, is also planned.
