Tata Sierra Launched At ₹11.49 Lakh - 3 Engine Options, Bookings Start 16 Dec
The all-new Tata Sierra has been launched in India with prices starting at ₹11.49 lakh (ex-showroom), marking one the reentry of one of the firm's most recognizable nameplates. Tata Motors will open bookings for the new Sierra from 16 December, while customer deliveries are scheduled to begin from 15 January 2026 across major cities.
Tata Sierra - Engine & Gearbox Options
The Tata Sierra with a wide powertrain lineup to cover both performance-focused and efficiency-focused buyers. The highlight is a new 1.5-litre GDi turbo petrol engine developing 158 bhp and 255 Nm, paired exclusively with a six-speed automatic transmission tuned for smoother urban response.

A 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine is also available for Tata Sierra customers who prefer a calmer, budget-friendly setup. This powerplant produces 105 bhp and 145 Nm, and i paired with either a six-speed manual gearbox or a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic designed for light-throttle commuting cycles.
The diesel variant of the Sierra is powered by a 1.5-litre four-cylinder engine that makes 116 bhp and 260 Nm. Tata offers this diesel engine with a six-speed manual as well as a six-speed automatic, expanding accessibility across multiple price points.

The Sierra measures 4.6 metres in length and rides on a 2.7-metre wheelbase, giving it proportions larger than most compact SUVs and closer to early D-segment models. Tata has confirmed that an all-wheel-drive configuration will be introduced later in the model's lifecycle, making the Sierra the first of its new-generation models to adopt the system.

Exterior highlights of the new Tata Sierra include a boxy silhouette that nods to the original Sierra, while the modern design adds a flat Alpine-style glass roof panel, full-LED lighting, a restyled front grille and large wheel arches housing 19-inch alloy wheels. The SUV will be sold in six exterior colours with three interior themes.
The cabin design takes inspiration from the Tata Curvv but adds several new elements tailored for the Sierra's premium positioning. A triple-screen layout spans the dashboard, supported by a 12-speaker JBL audio system with a sound-bar and a redesigned centre console integrating the latest software-driven interface.
Comfort features include dual-zone climate control, connected-car technology, a head-up display, ventilated and powered front seats, and a 360-degree camera. The SUV also includes six airbags, ABS with EBD, a stability programme and ISOFIX mounts, combined with Level-2 ADAS for enhanced safety support.
