The Tata Sierra is making a comeback, as the SUV is set to launch tomorrow (November 25, 2025). The iconic model is returning after a two-decade absence, and auto enthusiasts have high expectations. Here are the top things we anticipate from the new Sierra SUV.

Aggressive pricing
Tata Motors is launching the Sierra SUV to take on popular compact SUV cars like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Grand Vitara, and Volkswagen Taigun. All these cars are priced between 10- 20 lakhs (ex-showroom). We expect Tata to price the Sierra very aggressively. The prices are expected to start around 12 lakhs (ex-showroom). EV version could start around 20 lakhs (ex-showroom).
Multiple Powertrains
Tata is among the very few automakers to offer Petrol, Diesel and electric powertrains. They are also one of the leading brands in the EV market. The Sierra could be launched in all three variants. The petrol variant could carry a 1.5 NA petrol engine and a 1.5 turbocharged engine. Transmission options will be a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed DCT gearbox.
It will also feature a 1.5-litre diesel engine that produces 118 PS and 260 NM torque. EV version could have the same 65 kWh and 75 kWh battery packs as the Harrier EV, offering a range of around 600km.
Solid Build and Safety
As we all know, Tata cars are known for their world-class safety. The SUV is expected to have safety features such as a Level 2 ADAS, 360-degree camera, electronic parking brake, seven airbags, ESC, and Hill Hold Assist.
Modern Tech and Luxury
The Sierra will come with a dual-tone black and white cabin equipped with a large two 12.3-inch dual-screen infotainment system and a 10.25-inch Digital instrument cluster. It will also feature luxury amenities such as front ventilated seats, a full panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate controls, wireless charging, Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, premium speakers, and a sound system.
