Tata Punch EV Gets Two New Colour Options - Faster Charging For Long Range Model

India's leading EV maker Tata Motors has updated the Punch EV with new paint options and a faster DC charging setup for the Long Range variant. The changes come without any design or interior alterations, keeping the compact electric SUV's formula familiar.

Two fresh shades are now on offer for customers looking to buy a Tata Punch EV - Pure Grey and Supernova Copper. Both are paired with a contrasting black roof. These new options join the Tata Punch EV's existing palette of Empowered Oxide, Seaweed, Fearless Red, Daytona Grey, and Pristine White.

The Punch's styling remains unchanged. It retains its upright stance, split headlamp setup with LED DRLs, wide grille panel, and pronounced wheel arches while the black cladding and roof rails continue to give the Punch EV a rugged crossover look.

The key mechanical change is quicker charging for the Long Range version. Tata claims the updated DC fast-charging setup can now take the battery from 10 to 80 percent in about 40 minutes, down from the earlier 56 minutes.

The update to the charging capabilities of the Tata Punch Long Range allows around 90km of range to be added in just 15 minutes when connected to a 50kW public DC fast charger.

The Long Range uses a 35kWh battery with a 122PS, 190Nm electric motor. The claimed range of the Tata Punch Long Range is 365km on a single charge. The Medium Range variant, on the other hand, has a 25kWh pack connected to a motor producing 82PS and 114Nm, with a range of around 265km on the test cycle.

Inside the cabin of the Punch EV, the equipment list remains the same. The Punch EV continues to feature twin 10.25-inch screens, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, automatic climate control, and rear AC vents. Tata's iRA connected car suite also continues to be part of the package.

Additional features of the Punch EV from tata Motors include ventilated front seats, an air purifier, ambient lighting, and a single-pane sunroof. A six-speaker audio system and multiple USB ports for front and rear passengers are also included.

The Tatat Punch EV's Safety equipment list remains unchanged. The micro electric SUV gets six airbags, all-wheel disc brakes, electronic stability control, a 360-degree camera, blind-spot monitoring, hill hold assist, and tyre pressure monitoring are standard across the range.

The Tata Punch EV is currently priced between ₹9.99 lakh and ₹14.44 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Bookings for all variants of the Tata Punch EV are being accepted online and at Tata dealerships across the country, with deliveries for the updated models set to begin shortly.
