Tata Motors Sells Record 60,907 Cars In September – EV & CNG Sales Double
Tata Motors set a new benchmark in September 2025, reporting its highest-ever monthly passenger vehicle sales. Tata Motors sold 60,907 passenger vehicles last month, including 59,667 units in the domestic market, registering a massive 45.3 per cent year-on-year increase.
Exports played a role in this record as well, with 1,240 units shipped overseas compared to just 250 units in the same month last year. That surge reflects a 396 per cent rise and underlines Tata's growing presence in international markets.

Electric vehicles once again proved to be a growth engine. The brand sold 9,191 EVs, nearly doubling last year's September total of 4,680 units. CNG vehicles also performed strongly, clocking more than 17,800 units - a rise of 105 per cent year-on-year.
Together, green fuel models (EV + CNG) made up 44 per cent of Tata's overall sales in the quarter. This aligns with the company's broader strategy of offering multiple sustainable powertrain options across its lineup.
In model-wise performance, the Nexon emerged as the leader with over 22,500 units sold in September - its best-ever single month. Meanwhile, the Harrier and Safari achieved their strongest combined sales, helped by the introduction of the new Adventure X edition.
The industry-wide GST 2.0 rollout and the festive season provided a clear boost. New tax structures brought down effective prices in some categories, encouraging faster decision-making among buyers and lifting footfalls in showrooms nationwide.
