Tata's Sales Boom - Over 1 Lakh Cars Sold During Dussehra-Diwali Festive Season

Tata Motors has reported retail sales of over 1 lakh passenger vehicles during the 30-day festive window from Navratri to Diwali, marking a 33 per cent year-on-year growth over the same period last year.

The surge was driven by strong demand for the brand's SUV and electric vehicle lineup. The Tata Nexon led the charge with more than 38,000 units retailed, representing a 73 per cent year-on-year increase, while the Tata Punch followed with around 32,000 units, recording a 29 per cent growth compared to last year's festive season.

Electric vehicles also saw a strong upswing, with more than 10,000 EVs delivered during this period - a 37 per cent increase over last year. The company continues to lead India's growing EV market, supported by models like the Nexon EV, Tiago EV, and Punch EV.

Speaking on the performance, Shailesh Chandra, Managing Director & CEO, Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd, said: "Over the 30-day period from Navratri to Diwali, we have achieved a landmark milestone with over 1 lakh vehicle deliveries, reflecting a robust 33% growth compared to the same period last year. Our SUVs continue to lead this momentum - with the Nexon (India's No. 1 selling car in September 2025) registering over 38,000 retails, an impressive 73% growth, while the Punch clocked 32,000 units, growing 29% year-on-year."

He further added: "Our EV portfolio too has shown strong traction, with over 10,000 EVs retailed during this period, marking a 37% growth. Our full portfolio of cars and SUVs has supported this surge further, reinforcing our strategic commitment to product leadership, market relevance, and delivery excellence in this pivotal festive window."

The festive period typically drives the highest auto retail volumes in India, as manufacturers ramp up supplies and buyers time purchases with auspicious dates. This year, Tata Motors benefited from steady supply chains and refreshed model lineups across both ICE and electric segments.

The company's SUV-led strategy continues to shape its market strength, with models such as the Nexon, Punch, and Harrier forming the core of its portfolio. The electric lineup has also expanded steadily, attracting new buyers who seek cleaner mobility without compromising performance.

With this milestone, Tata Motors has consolidated its position among the top performers of the season, underscoring the brand's momentum across segments during India's most competitive retail window.
