Tata Motors October 2025 Sales Report: Smashes Record For 2nd Consecutive Month
Tata Motors reported its highest-ever monthly sales for October 2025, with total wholesales reaching 61,295 units-a year-on-year rise of 26.6 % from October 2024. The result marks the second month in a row the company has achieved record volumes, underlining strong demand across its passenger-vehicle lineup.
Domestic wholesale volumes stood at 61,134 units in October, up 27 % from 48,131 units in the same month a year earlier. SUVs led the mix, with around 47,000 units sold, accounting for approximately 77 % of the company's total volume for the month.
Tata's electric-vehicle (EV) sales rose sharply to 9,286 units in October, representing growth of 73.4 % over 5,355 units sold in October 2024. The EV tally also improved modestly on a month-on-month basis from September, increasing from 9,191 units.
The company attributed part of the sales boost to favourable tax policy changes, including a reduction in GST rates and easing of cess that came into effect from 22 September 2025. The festive sales period-covering Dussehra, Dhanteras and Diwali-also contributed to delivery momentum with Tata selling over one lakh PVs in the festive time period.
Export volumes for October remained modest and declined to 161 units, compared with 292 units a year earlier. Tata's focus for now remains on the domestic market, where volume and value growth are accelerated.
The strong October performance follows 60,907 units sold in September 2025, indicating month-on-month stability and continuity of demand. Tata's planning suggests that a combination of product breadth-including newer SUVs and EVs-plus macro-tailwinds is driving the recent surge.
Among specific models, the Nexon / EV duo stood out with around a 50 % year-on-year increase in volume. The Harrier and Safari also posted strong numbers, each adding more than 7,000 units to the monthly sales tally.
The company has several launches in the pipeline, including the Sierra set to arrive on 25 November 2025, and aims to expand its product portfolio to 15 nameplates over the next few years.
