Tata Motors Launch Lifetime Warranty For Curvv & Nexon EV Models

Tata Motors is set to introduce a lifetime warranty for the Curvv EV and Nexon EV, covering unlimited kilometres. This 'lifetime' warranty spans 15 years from the vehicle's initial registration date at the local RTO office. Current owners can also benefit from this offer. However, only the 45 kWh Nexon EV qualifies for this advantage.

For subsequent registrations, the warranty is limited to 8 years or 1,60,000 km for both the Nexon EV 45 and Curvv EV. Tata Motors requires that all ownership transfers be reported to them; otherwise, the battery warranty becomes void. The company has outlined specific terms and conditions that must be adhered to in order to maintain this unlimited warranty.

Terms and Conditions for Warranty

The vehicle must be serviced at an authorised TATA.ev service station according to the maintenance schedule by TATA Passenger Electric Mobility Limited. Registration should be under private individuals' names. If registered under a company perk car scheme, including transfers to employees, the warranty becomes invalid if sold to third parties.

An active IRA.ev connection is mandatory throughout ownership. The battery should remain undamaged and untampered. If an HV battery needs replacement or repair during the warranty period, TATA.ev will ensure its energy capacity matches or exceeds 80% of its steady state SOH before replacement.

Previous Warranty Offers

The Harrier EV was Tata Motors' first model with an unlimited warranty. However, from the second registration onwards, it offers a 10-year or 2 lakh kilometre warranty. Previously, Tata provided an 8-year or 1,60,000 km battery pack warranty on its electric vehicles.
