Tata Harrier EV To Be Launched Next Month! All Highlights Here

Tata Motors is gearing up to introduce its fourth electric vehicle in India, the Harrier EV. This new electric SUV will be positioned above the Curvv EV, making it the brand's flagship model. The Harrier EV is set to compete with the Mahindra XEV 9e and is scheduled for launch on June 3rd. Here are a few highlights of the Tata Harrier EV that are worth knowing.

Design

The design of the Tata Harrier EV closely mirrors its internal combustion engine (ICE) counterpart but includes specific features for an electric vehicle. It boasts a blanked front grille, a redesigned air dam, an updated skid plate, and aerodynamically enhanced alloy wheels. The patented design also features robust side cladding and roof-mounted lighting fixtures. However, these elements might be optional rather than standard.

Features

Inside, the Harrier EV will carry over many features from the ICE version. Expect an ADAS suite, panoramic sunroof, 360-degree camera, ventilated front seats, automatic climate control, and touch controls for air conditioning. The dashboard will feature dual digital screens integrating the touchscreen infotainment system with the instrument cluster.

Powertrain & Range

The Tata Harrier EV is expected to have a powerful powertrain offering a range of around 500 km on a full charge. It will come equipped with an All Wheel Drive (AWD) system known as QWD by Tata Motors. This setup promises enhanced driving dynamics and stability across various terrains.

The charging port location on the test mule was observed on the right fender, similar to its ICE sibling. This placement has sparked discussions about standardising charging port locations across Tata's electric vehicles.

V2L & V2V Capabilities

The Harrier EV will also include V2L and V2V functionalities. These features allow owners to charge various electronic devices or other electric vehicles directly from their car's battery. Such capabilities enhance convenience for users who rely on multiple electronic gadgets or own more than one electric vehicle.

Tata's Electric Vehicle Lineup

Tata Motors' current electric lineup begins with the Tiago EV, followed by the Tigor EV and Punch EV. The Nexon EV stands out as one of India's most popular electric vehicles. Above these models sits the Curvv EV, which will soon be joined by the Harrier EV as Tata's flagship electric SUV.

DriveSpark Thinks

As anticipation builds for its launch, enthusiasts are eager to see how this new addition will perform against competitors in India's growing electric vehicle market. With its impressive range and advanced features, the Harrier EV aims to make a significant impact in this segment.
