Tata Curvv EV Launched In India At Rs 22.24 Lakh - 502km Range
Tata Motors has expanded its electric vehicle portfolio with the introduction of the Dark Edition for its Curvv EV, marking it as the latest addition in its lineup to receive the exclusive all-black treatment.
The all-electric Tata Curvv SUV is available in the Empowered+ A trim level, which is equipped with a 55kWh battery pack, has a price tag of Rs 22.24 lakh (ex-showroom, India), a Rs 25,000 premium over the standard model.The exterior design of the Curvv EV Dark Edition showcases a commitment to the dark theme, with black 18-inch alloy wheels and 'DARK’ badging on the fenders accentuating its sleek profile. The lower section of the front bumper has chrome lines turned dark to align with the overall appearance. While the 'EV’ badges maintain a contrasting blue color, the vehicle also sports a new Carbon Black exterior paint, further solidifying its bold and dominant presence.

The interior of the Curvv EV Dark Edition mirrors the exterior's sophisticated theme, featuring a dark color scheme that extends through the upholstery, dashboard, and leatherette seats embellished with 'DARK' lettering on the front headrests. This variant also introduces new sunshades for the rear passengers, enhancing comfort and privacy. Despite these aesthetic adjustments, the vehicle retains its original mechanical specifications, ensuring the same dynamic performance that the Curvv EV is known for.
In terms of features, the Curvv electric vehicle does not disappoint. It comes loaded with a 10.25-inch driver's display and a 12.3-inch touchscreen that supports wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Other notable amenities include wireless charging, ambient lighting, a premium JBL sound system, ventilated front seats, a panoramic sunroof, and an air purifier. Safety is paramount, with the SUV offering six airbags, rear parking sensors, a 360-degree camera, and a Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) as standard. It also boasts a Level 2 ADAS suite, exclusive to the Empowered+ A trim.

In terms of performance, the Curvv EV delivers impressive numbers. Its front-wheel-drive motor generates 167hp and 215Nm of torque. Powered by a 55kWh battery pack, it promises a 502km range on a single charge according to the MIDC cycle. Acceleration from 0 to 100kph is swift, taking just 8.6 seconds, with three drive modes available: Eco, City, and Sport. The top speed reaches 160kph in Sport mode and 120kph in the other modes, showcasing its versatility and power.
Charging Options and Availability
For charging, the Curvv EV is equipped with a 7.2kW AC charger, which fully charges the battery from 10 to 100 percent in approximately 7.9 hours. A faster option is available with a 70kW DC fast charger, which boosts the battery from 10 to 80 percent in just 40 minutes. Additionally, charging through a regular 15A wall socket is also possible, offering convenience and flexibility to users.
The Curvv EV Dark Edition has already made a significant impact, achieving a five-star rating in BNCAP crash testing in October 2024, a testament to Tata's commitment to safety and quality. As the third Tata EV to receive this rating, it stands as a strong contender in the electric vehicle market. The Dark Edition's introduction not only adds a new dimension to the Curvv lineup but also reinforces Tata Motors' position in the EV segment, providing customers with a blend of style, performance, and advanced features.
