Tata Altroz Facelift Unique Feature List: I20, Baleno Do Not Get These Features

Tata Motors is gearing up to unveil the updated Altroz on May 22nd. This marks first significant update for premium hatchback since debut in January2020. The introduces several enhancements aimed at elevating its premium appeal, setting it apart from competitors like Hyundai i20, Toyota Glanza, and Maruti Suzuki Baleno.

1. Digital Instrument With Full-Screen Map

Inside, the Altroz facelift boasts a 10.25-inch Ultraview Digital Cluster capable of displaying full-screen maps when connected to a smartphone. This complements last year's update of a 10.25-inch infotainment screen. Another notable feature is blindspot monitoring, which provides a side camera feed when turn signals are activated.

2. Flush Door Handles

Additionally, the vehicle now includes flush door handles at the front, a feature initially seen with the Tata Curvv EV. The rear door handles remain concealed within the C-Pillar area.

3. Ambient Lighting

Ambient lighting enhances the cabin's atmosphere, extending beyond footwell lighting to include dashboard illumination—a feature not commonly found among rivals in this segment.

4. Infinity Taillights

The Altroz facelift features connected LED taillights, a first in the premium hatchback segment. Tata refers to this design as Infinity LED tail lamps.

5. 90-Degree Doors

The Altroz continues to offer rain-sensing wipers, a feature not found in other premium hatchbacks. Its doors open up to 90 degrees, facilitating easy entry and exit—a characteristic that has always been a strong point for the Altroz.

6. Dual-Cylinder CNG

A standout feature of the Altroz is its dual-cylinder CNG kit, making it unique in its segment as Hyundai's Hy-CNG Duo kit is yet to be available with the i20. Furthermore, Tata Motors will continue offering a diesel engine option with this facelift, making it the only hatchback in India with such an offering.

7. 5-Star Safety

Safety remains a priority for Tata Motors. The Altroz is distinguished as the only premium hatchback in India tested by Global NCAP, achieving an impressive 5-star crash safety rating. This accolade underscores its commitment to passenger safety.

Well-Equipped Base Variant

Tata has announced that the Altroz will come in five distinct variants: Smart, Pure, Creative, Accomplished S, and Accomplished +S. Starting with the Smart variant, the base model, it's clear that Tata Motors has not skimped on incorporating premium features and design elements to enhance its appeal. The exterior of the Altroz boasts a fresh, split headlight configuration and twin pod headlamps, injecting a sense of sophistication. However, the Smart and Pure variants will utilize halogen lights instead of LED headlights.

The design updates extend to the Altroz's grille, now in all-black, and the front and rear bumpers have been refined. A notable first for its segment is the inclusion of flush door handles. While the top-tier models will feature 16-inch alloy wheels, the entry-level Smart variant is expected to roll out on 15-inch steel rims. Additionally, LED tail lamps are part of the new Altroz's design enhancements.

Stepping inside the 2025 Tata Altroz Smart, the cabin offers easy access with doors that swing open to a wide 90-degree angle. The interior welcomes occupants with a newly designed two-spoke steering wheel, featuring an illuminated Tata logo. Safety is a paramount aspect of the Altroz, as it comes equipped with six airbags and an electronic stability program (ESP), ensuring peace of mind for its passengers.

Powertrain

Under the hood, the Altroz is poised to offer a variety of engine options, catering to different preferences and needs. These include two petrol engines, a diesel engine, and a CNG option. The 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine will be available in two outputs: a standard version producing 87 bhp and 115 Nm and a more powerful variant with 118 bhp and 170 Nm. Both petrol versions will offer a choice between a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed dual-clutch transmission for the standard, and a 6-speed manual for the higher-spec. The diesel option, a 1.5-litre engine, delivers 89 bhp and 200 Nm, paired with a 5-speed manual transmission. Lastly, a CNG variant will produce 72 bhp and 103 Nm, also mated to a 5-speed manual.

DriveSpark Thinks

As Tata Motors prepares for this launch, these updates aim to solidify Altroz's position as a leading choice in India's premium hatchback market by offering features that competitors have yet to match.
