Tata Altroz Facelift Bags 5-Star Bharat NCAP Rating - Tata Maintains Perfect Track Record
Tata Motors has added another milestone to its safety record, with the updated Altroz premium hatchback securing a 5-star safety rating in the Bharat NCAP crash tests. The Tata Altroz hatchback scored impressively across both adult and child occupant protection categories.
This achievement also makes the Altroz facelift the ninth Tata vehicle to earn a 5-star rating under Bharat NCAP. With all 9 Tata models tested so far achieving top marks, the brand has firmly established itself as a leader in terms of car safety in India.

In Adult Occupant Protection, the Altroz achieved 29.65 points out of 32. The test measured injury readings for the driver and co-driver during simulated collisions, covering frontal offset and side impact crash conditions to assess the hatchback's structural and restraint system performance.
The frontal offset deformable barrier test showed good protection for the driver's head, chest, neck, and feet. Protection for both tibias was rated as adequate. For the co-driver, the head, chest, and neck were rated good, while the right tibia received an adequate rating.

In the side movable deformable barrier test, results were mixed. The driver's head and pelvis protection were rated good, abdomen adequate, and chest marginal. In the side pole impact test, protection was rated good for critical areas, supporting the overall side impact score.
In the Child Occupant Protection tests, the Altroz facelift scored 44.90 out of a maximum of 49 points. The rating included assessments of dynamic crash performance with child seats, installation checks for restraint systems, and specific vehicle design elements affecting child safety.

Dynamic child restraint testing with an 18-month-old and a three-year-old dummy earned the Altroz 23.90 points out of 24. Both side impact protection scores were perfect, and frontal impact protection scores were also quite high. Installation of child seats in the Altroz was scored a perfect 12 out of 12 points.
The vehicle assessment portion of the child safety test saw the Altroz score nine out of 13 points. Combined with dynamic and installation results, this provided one of the highest child occupant protection ratings recorded so far under the Bharat NCAP testing protocols.
Standard safety equipment on the Tata Altroz facelift includes six airbags, electronic stability control, ABS with EBD, and three-point seatbelts at every seating position. Higher trims of the Altroz offer additional safety technology. Features available include a 360-degree camera, blind-spot monitoring system, and tyre-pressure monitoring. These driver assistance systems are designed to enhance visibility, awareness, and preventive safety in everyday driving conditions.
