2025 Tata Altroz Facelift Unveiled: Key Features & Updates
More than five years after its debut, the Tata Altroz has undergone a significant transformation. This update, the first substantial change since its introduction in January 2020, has revamped the premium hatchback's appearance, cabin, and amenities, while keeping the original engine options. The revamped Altroz is now available in five different models: Smart, Pure, Creative, Accomplished S, and Accomplished+ S.
The exterior of the Altroz has seen major modifications, especially at the front, which now features new LED headlights that are split and have updated daytime running lights signatures. The grille has received a makeover with a new design incorporating layered rectangular elements, alongside a reimagined front bumper housing fog lamps in vertical recesses.

The vehicle's side profile is enhanced with illuminated door handles that sit flush with the body and new 16-inch alloy wheels. At the back, T-shaped LED tail-lamps linked by an LED light bar mimic the style seen on the Hyundai Venue, coupled with a sportier bumper and distinct 'Altroz’ branding on the tailgate. Customers can choose from five colors: Dune Glow, Ember Glow, Pristine White, Pure Grey, and Royal Blue.
Interior Enhancements and Feature Upgrades
Inside, the facelifted Altroz draws inspiration from Tata's Nexon and Curvv models, showcasing a redesigned dashboard that makes the cabin feel more modern. It includes a new 2-spoke steering wheel and a 10.25-inch all-digital instrument panel. The climate control system has also been updated. Some features, once exclusive to the Altroz Racer variant, have been integrated into the facelift. Despite these upgrades, Tata has retained popular features from the current model, such as the electric sunroof, cruise control, rear AC vents, ambient lighting, and a 360-degree camera.
Under the hood, the Altroz facelift maintains the existing lineup of engines, including the 1.2-litre petrol engine producing 88hp, a factory-fitted CNG version delivering 74hp, and a 1.5-litre diesel engine with 90hp. Each engine is paired with a 5-speed manual transmission, with the petrol variant also offering a 6-speed dual-clutch automatic option. Notably, the Altroz remains the only hatchback in India to offer a diesel engine. There's speculation on whether the facelift will include the 120hp, 1.2-litre turbo-petrol engine and 6-speed manual gearbox available in the current Altroz Racer.
Competition and Pricing Yet to Be Revealed
Set to compete against the likes of the Hyundai i20, Maruti Suzuki Baleno, and Toyota Glanza in the premium hatchback market, the Altroz facelift's pricing is still under wraps. However, it's anticipated that the cost will be slightly higher than the current model, which is priced between Rs 6.65 to 11.30 lakh. As the Altroz facelift rolls out, it remains to be seen how it will stack up against its rivals in terms of features, performance, and price.
In a related development, Tata has faced stiff competition from MG and Mahindra in the electric vehicle (EV) segment as of April 2025. In a move to boost sales, Tata has announced a discount of Rs 1 lakh on its EV models this May, signaling the company's aggressive strategy to maintain its foothold in the rapidly growing EV market.
