In its fifth year of partnership, Subaru teams up with Max Greenfield to support teachers in high-needs schools. The initiative aims to provide essential classroom supplies for over 950,000 students nationwide.

Subaru of America, Inc. (SOA) has announced its ongoing commitment to education by continuing as the largest corporate supporter of AdoptAClassroom.org for the fifth consecutive year. Subaru's efforts focus on high-needs schools, defined as those with a Title I Schoolwide Program or where at least 40% of students qualify for free or reduced-price lunch. The automaker's commitment includes adopting 91 classrooms in Camden City School District near its headquarters in Camden, NJ. This initiative involves both financial support and employee volunteer efforts to assist teachers in setting up their classrooms.

The partnership between Subaru and AdoptAClassroom.org addresses significant challenges faced by educators and families in securing basic classroom essentials. According to AdoptAClassroom.org, 92% of teachers have students whose families cannot afford school supplies, leading educators to spend an average of $895 out-of-pocket annually—a figure that has increased by 50% since 2015.

Alan Bethke, Senior Vice President of Marketing at Subaru of America, Inc., expressed pride in supporting nearly one million children in high-needs schools. He stated: "Helping nearly one million children in high-needs schools feel better prepared to learn and have access to the education they deserve is a rewarding feeling."

Ann Pifer, Executive Director of AdoptAClassroom.org, highlighted the impact of this collaboration: "Each year, we see a record-breaking number of students supported, thanks to the incredible commitment of Subaru and its strong community of retailers." She emphasized that this partnership provides critical educational opportunities and resources nationwide.

Max Greenfield's Involvement

Max Greenfield shared his admiration for teachers: "I’ve always had a deep respect for teachers, but becoming a parent gave me a closer look at how much they take on." He praised Subaru Loves Learning for its effort to support educators who make significant contributions to children's lives.

Subaru's dedication extends beyond just providing funds; many participating retailers also donate curated school supply kits filled with materials most requested by teachers. Some retailers go further by offering flexible funding for special projects within local schools.

A Broader Commitment

Subaru's commitment is part of its broader vision known as the Subaru Love Promise. This initiative aims to show love and respect while supporting communities and customers nationwide. Over two decades, SOA and its foundation have donated over $340 million to various causes important to the Subaru family.

AdoptAClassroom.org is a national nonprofit organization that partners with PreK-12 educators and schools to provide essential tools for teaching. Since its inception in 1998, it has raised $74 million and equipped seven million students across the U.S., with 90% of funded classrooms located in high-needs schools.

This ongoing collaboration between Subaru and AdoptAClassroom.org demonstrates their shared commitment to enhancing educational opportunities for students across America.
