Subaru Motorsports USA Aims For Glory At The 2025 Goodwood Festival Of Speed With Project Midnight
The renowned Goodwood Festival of Speed is set to return from July 10 to 13, with Subaru Motorsports USA ready to make an impact. Known for its strong performance and popular drivers, the team aims for a podium finish in the South of England, continuing a legacy that has significantly influenced rally history.
After an impressive debut at the 2024 Festival, Scott Speed and the WRX: Project Midnight are returning in 2025. They previously achieved the fastest time for an internal combustion engine and competed closely with more powerful electric vehicles. "Project Midnight is an amazing car," says Speed. "And Goodwood is a special event. I can’t wait to run it up that hill again!"
The car's loud roar and flame-spewing hood make it a standout on the hill. No Festival of Speed would be complete without Subaru Motorsports USA driver and extreme sports icon Travis Pastrana. This year, he returns to Goodwood’s rally stage with the WRX ARA25, known for its class-leading performance in the American Rally Association Open 4WD class.
"I’m stoked to be in the O4WD car again!" Pastrana says. "It’ll take a second to get used to it, but I always have fun driving for that crowd. We’re gonna have a great time!" As Goodwood marks thirty years since Colin McRae’s championship season, Subaru’s presence on the rally stage holds special significance.
Several of McRae’s cars will run alongside the WRX ARA25, serving as both a tribute and a reminder of an era defined by speed and iconic colours. With last year’s record-breaking performances still fresh in memory, excitement builds for Project Midnight’s return to the hill.
The 2025 Festival promises a diverse lineup featuring classic motorsport icons, rare hypercars, experimental hybrids, and full-electric platforms. Celebrating Formula 1’s 75th anniversary as a central theme, fans can expect legendary speedsters from across the racing world.
