Subaru's $30,000 Donation To Cooper Foundation Aids Camden Patients For Fourth Year

Subaru of America, Inc. has reinforced its dedication to the Camden community by donating $30,000 to The Cooper Foundation. This marks the fourth year of support under the Subaru Loves to Care initiative. The donation aids in removing healthcare barriers by providing medical equipment and transportation for patients at Cooper University Health Care. Equipment like blood pressure monitors and wheelchairs, often not covered by insurance, are included.

The partnership between Subaru and Cooper University Health Care has significantly impacted Camden residents. In 2024 alone, 402 residents benefited from 24,780 pieces of medical equipment and 990 transportation rides for 230 patients. These services were delivered through various Cooper programs such as the Urban Health Institute and the Cooper Rowan Clinic for uninsured individuals.

Philip A. Norcross, Esq., chairman of The Cooper Foundation Board, expressed gratitude for Subaru's involvement: "Our work simply wouldn’t be possible without corporate champions like Subaru." He highlighted that the grant helps remove obstacles for vulnerable patients and fosters a healthier Camden community.

Anthony J. Mazzarelli, MD, JD, MBE, co-CEO of Cooper University Health Care, praised Subaru's role as a caring neighbor in Camden. He noted that their ongoing support enhances the health and well-being of local residents. Kevin M. O’Dowd, JD, co-CEO of Cooper University Health Care, added that Subaru’s assistance extends essential care beyond hospital walls.

Erica McLeod, corporate social responsibility manager at Subaru of America, Inc., emphasized their commitment: "At Subaru, we believe in showing up for our hometown." She stated that the partnership with Cooper exemplifies their dedication to making a tangible difference in Camden.

Over time, Subaru has backed numerous initiatives at Cooper University Health Care. These include donating emergency vehicles to Cooper EMS and supporting women’s cancer programs through events like Pink Roses & Teal Magnolias.
