Subaru Earns Three IIHS TOP SAFETY PICK Awards For 2025 Models Including Solterra
Subaru of America, Inc. has announced that its 2025 Solterra, Ascent, and Forester models have been recognised with IIHS TOP SAFETY PICK awards. The Solterra received the prestigious TOP SAFETY PICK+ award. This marks the 19th time the Forester has achieved this recognition. The Ascent and Forester, excluding the Wilderness trim for Forester, also earned the 2025 TOP SAFETY PICK award.
The Subaru Solterra has been a consistent performer, securing the TOP SAFETY PICK+ award for three consecutive years. Meanwhile, the Ascent has maintained its streak with eight consecutive years as a TOP SAFETY PICK winner. Jeff Walters, President and COO of Subaru of America, Inc., expressed pride in these achievements: "It’s an honor for Solterra, Ascent and Forester to be recognized by IIHS’ new, increasingly rigorous testing for both driver safety and passenger safety."

For the 2025 testing cycle, vehicles must achieve an acceptable rating in updated tests to qualify for the TOP SAFETY PICK award. A good rating is necessary for the TOP SAFETY PICK+ accolade. The IIHS has enhanced its moderate overlap front test by adding a dummy behind the driver to better assess back seat passenger safety.
The 2025 Subaru Solterra is offered in several trims: Premium, Limited, Touring, and the new Touring Onyx Edition. It starts at $38,495 MSRP before any applicable tax credits and is available nationwide at Subaru retailers. Known for its off-road capabilities, it boasts 8.3 inches of ground clearance.
The 2025 Subaru Ascent is a spacious 3-row SUV available in various trims including Premium, Onyx Edition, Limited Bronze Edition, Touring, and Onyx Edition Touring. Its starting price is $38,910 MSRP. This model offers flexible seating options for seven or eight passengers along with advanced safety features and technologies.
The latest Subaru Forester comes in Base, Premium, Sport, Limited, and Touring trims while the Forester Hybrid is available in Premium through Touring trims as well. Their starting prices are $29,995 and $34,995 MSRP respectively. Both models feature a stylish exterior design and quieter interiors for 2025.
