Subaru Marks Ten Years Of Supporting Cancer Patients Through Partnership With The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society
Subaru of America, Inc. has reached a significant milestone by partnering with The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) for ten consecutive years under its Subaru Loves to Care initiative. As the largest automotive donor to LLS, Subaru and its retailers are dedicated to aiding children and families affected by blood cancer. By 2025, they aim to support nearly 500,000 cancer patients across the nation.
Blood cancer treatment can be lengthy and emotionally taxing, often leaving patients feeling isolated. To combat this, Subaru and its retailers provide heart-shaped blankets, care kits, and handwritten messages of hope. These gestures offer comfort and highlight the importance of community support during challenging times.
Throughout June, over 630 Subaru retailers nationwide will deliver blankets and personal notes to cancer patients in local hospitals. Of these retailers, 370 will also distribute care kits to enhance comfort during treatment and recovery. This initiative underscores Subaru's commitment to being More Than a Car Company.
In addition to these efforts, participating retailers contribute to LLS’s Urgent Need Pediatric, Adolescent and Young Adult Fund. This fund provides financial assistance for non-medical expenses like groceries and transportation for young blood cancer patients and their families.
Subaru will match donations made through LLS.org during the Subaru Loves to Care campaign from June 1 to 30, 2025, up to $100,000. This financial support aims to alleviate some of the burdens faced by families dealing with blood cancer.
E. Anders Kolb, M.D., President and CEO of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society stated: "Thoughtful gestures like blankets and handwritten notes from Subaru and its retailers offer real comfort, love, and encouragement during treatment, especially for children."
Impactful Partnerships
Alan Bethke, Senior Vice President of Marketing at Subaru of America, Inc., emphasized the impact of their partnership: "A decade of working together on Subaru Loves to Care has only served to reinforce how meaningful a personal touch can be for those facing cancer."
The partnership between Subaru and LLS has touched countless lives over the past decade. It reminds patients that they are not alone in their fight against cancer.
