Explore Hampson's Stellar Selection Of Classic And Performance Cars For Bolesworth Sale On May 4
Hampson Auctions is gearing up for an exciting event at Bolesworth Castle on Sunday, 4 May. The auction will showcase a diverse array of classic, performance, and supercars. Among the highlights is a last-minute addition of 24 cars from a private collection. This collection adds to an already impressive lineup that includes vehicles from the 1960s to modern high-performance machines.
The standout vehicle in the auction is a 1962 Aston Martin DB4 Series V Vantage. Only 136 of these coupes were made with the enhanced Vantage specifications. This particular car underwent a comprehensive restoration, including a £40,000 engine rebuild by RS Williams. It is estimated to fetch between £400,000 and £500,000.
A notable entry is the 2024 Rolls-Royce Phantom, which was customised with over £60,000 in extras. Originally priced just under £500,000 when purchased last February, this car has only travelled 1,800 miles since leaving the Goodwood factory. Its estimated value ranges from £350,000 to £400,000.
Another exceptional Rolls-Royce on offer is the 2018 Wrath Black Badge Adamas Collection model. As one of only 40 produced globally, this limited-edition vehicle combines luxury with performance and has covered just 13,000 miles. It carries an estimate of £190,000 to £210,000.
The auction also features a unique Jaguar E-type from 1966. This Series One model underwent extensive restoration and upgrades in 2020 by Jaguar specialist Woodham Mortimer. They transformed it into their vision of perfection called the '4.7 Sport GT,' with an estimated value between £200,000 and £300,000.
Ferrari enthusiasts have much to look forward to with two models on offer. A rare 1996 Ferrari 456GT finished in Azzurro Monaco blue with tan leather interior is available. Of the mere 141 right-hand drive models sold in the UK between 1994 and 1998, only two featured this paintwork. With just 26,000 miles driven, it is expected to sell for £38,000 to £42,000.
Additionally, a stunning open-top Ferrari California from 2011 will be available. This model boasts a powerful 4.3-litre V8 engine and shares the same estimate range as the Ferrari 456GT at £38,000 to £42,000.
Nissan GT-R Recaros and Classic Minis
The sale includes two Nissan R35 GT-R Recaros with minimal mileage: a 2016 model with just 160 miles and a 2017 version with only 95 miles on the clock. These 'time warp machines' are valued at estimates of £65,000-£75,000 and £75,000-£85,000 respectively.
Classic Mini fans can find delight in two offerings: a rare Morris Mini Van from 1980 available at No Reserve and a beautifully restored Austin Mini Cooper S from 1963 with period race history (£30,000-£35,000). The latter was originally owned by renowned Mini racer George Lawrence of Ridgeway Racing.
Fiat Classics and Ford Favourites
Fiat enthusiasts have two classic options: a rare Fiat Cabriolet imported new by its first owner in 1965 (£12,000-£14,000) and a cheerful terracotta-hued Fiat R from 1975 (£6,000-£8,000), perfect for sunny outings.
Ford fans will appreciate meticulously restored models like the rare Capri GXL from 1973 featuring a V6 Cologne engine (£14,000-£16,000) and an Escort RS Turbo from 1988 offered at No Reserve after benefiting from an engine rebuild in early this year.
Historic Jaguars and Private Collection Highlights
A beautiful Jaguar XK150 from1958 will also be auctioned at Bolesworth Castle. It boasts impeccable provenance as its first owner was the Earl of Moray who retained it until commissioning its full restoration before selling it (£30k-£40k).
The private collection's last-minute consignment includes various charming vehicles such as a Fordson petrol tanker adorned with Pratt's Petroleum livery alongside sleek Alvis T21 Saloon models plus rare Hooper-bodied cars like Daimler Century (one out three produced) & Bentley S1 Hooper Body (one out thirty-nine built).
