Stellantis Launches $64 Million Mopar Parts Distribution Center In East Fishkill To Enhance Service Across Northeast
Stellantis has inaugurated a new Mopar Parts Distribution Center (PDC) in East Fishkill, New York, with a $64 million investment. This facility aims to enhance parts distribution across the Northeast United States. The center is equipped to handle over 2 million shipments annually and stocks more than 46,000 unique parts. This development marks a significant step in improving service for Stellantis dealerships and customers.
The East Fishkill PDC is the first Stellantis facility in the U.S. to implement the AutoStore automated storage and retrieval system. This advanced technology uses 40 robotic units to efficiently manage parts within a high-density grid. The robots retrieve items from 70,000 bins, streamlining order processing and reducing wait times for shipments.
The AutoStore system not only boosts efficiency but also reduces the physical space needed for inventory storage. This aligns with Stellantis' commitment to reducing its carbon footprint. By consolidating operations from former facilities in Tappan, New York, and Boston into this new center, Mopar has minimized its environmental impact while enhancing service capabilities.
Mopar's Senior Vice President for North America, Darren Bradshaw, emphasized the importance of this investment in long-term growth and service capabilities. "The launch of our new Mopar Parts Distribution Center in East Fishkill marks a significant investment in our long-term growth and service capabilities," said Bradshaw. "This facility supports our dedicated UAW-represented workforce with the tools and environment they need to succeed."
The opening ceremony was attended by key figures including Mopar Vice President for Supply Chain James Parker Jr., Director of Supply Chain Anthony Fioritto II, and Dutchess County Legislator Steve Caswell. Caswell highlighted the positive impact on the local community: "The launch of the Mopar Parts Distribution Center is a tremendous boost for East Fishkill," he stated.
This new facility brings nearly 100 jobs to East Fishkill, reinforcing the town's potential as a hub for technological advancement and economic growth. The presence of Stellantis strengthens local businesses and supports future development initiatives.
