Top 5 Things About The Upcoming Skoda Octavia RS
After being discontinued in early 2023 due to dwindling sales and stricter emissions norms, the Skoda Octavia nameplate is staging a comeback-this time in its performance-oriented RS guise. Skoda Auto India has confirmed that the fourth-generation Octavia RS will launch as a Completely Built Unit (CBU) by early November 2025. The model first turned heads at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo in New Delhi this January. Here's everything you should know:
1. Exterior Design
The new Octavia RS sports a sharper, more aggressive look. Redesigned front and rear bumpers, a honeycomb mesh grille with the new RS badge, and larger air intakes give it a sportier stance. Gloss-black accents surround the radiator grille frame, side window trim, rear diffuser, and twin tailpipes, while bigger alloy wheels complete the athletic aesthetic.

2. Interior Highlights
Step inside, and the RS theme continues. The cabin adopts an all-black interior with striking red contrast stitching. Front sports seats provide electric lumbar adjustment and massage functions-upholstered in fabric as standard, with optional Suedia microfibre or faux leather. A flat-bottomed three-spoke steering wheel and stainless-steel pedal covers emphasize the performance vibe.
3. Engine & Performance
Powering the Octavia RS is a 2.0-litre TSI turbo-petrol engine paired with a 7-speed DSG gearbox. It churns out 261bhp and 370Nm of torque, allowing a 0-100 km/h sprint in 6.6 seconds and a top speed of 250km/h. Built on the Volkswagen Group's MQB Evo platform, this engine is shared with the new Golf GTI, ensuring proven performance pedigree.
4. Digital Experience
Tech lovers will appreciate the 13-inch infotainment touchscreen with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a 10-inch Virtual Cockpit for the instrument cluster, and an additional head-up display. The front row features ventilated wireless phone charging and fast-charging USB-C ports, while rear passengers benefit from their own charging ports and AC vents.
5. Safety Suite
The Octavia RS doesn't skimp on safety, offering 10 airbags as standard. Its ADAS package includes fatigue detection assist, automatic parking, and remote parking via a mobile app, making the performance sedan as safe as it is thrilling.
