Skoda Octavia RS Sold Out Ahead Of Its Launch In India!

Skoda India opened bookings for the much-awaited Octavia RS earlier this week with a token amount of Rs 2.50 lakh, and in no time, all 100 units allocated for the Indian market were spoken for. The high-performance sedan will make its official debut on October 17, with prices expected to fall in the range of Rs 50 lakh to Rs 55 lakh (ex-showroom). The Octavia RS is arriving in India as a full import, which explains its premium pricing.

Interestingly, this frenzy mirrors what happened back in 2020 when Skoda launched the Octavia RS 245. That limited batch of 200 units was sold out in just over a month. This time, however, the response has been even quicker. That said, buyers who missed out might still have a chance, as a few cancellations could occur once the prices are officially revealed.

Skoda Octavia RS

Powertrain & Performance

The new fourth-generation Octavia RS is the most powerful version of the nameplate yet. It is powered by a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder, turbo-petrol engine that produces 265hp and 370Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a 7-speed DSG automatic gearbox that sends power to the front wheels. Skoda claims a 0-100kmph time of 6.4 seconds and an electronically limited top speed of 250kmph.

This engine is the same unit that powers the Volkswagen Golf GTI sold in India, and the Octavia RS also benefits from a standard sports exhaust system that enhances its aural character.

Design, Paint Options & Interior

The new Octavia RS will be available in five striking colour options - Mamba Green, Magic Black, Candy White, Race Blue, and Velvet Red. The sedan retains its sharp and athletic stance, further accentuated by its RS-specific styling details.

Inside, the Octavia RS features an all-black theme finished in a mix of suede and leatherette upholstery. The cabin layout remains driver-focused, blending luxury with a sporty edge.

Features & Equipment

In true RS fashion, the Octavia comes loaded with equipment. It rides on 19-inch alloy wheels and gets LED Matrix headlamps for superior illumination. The front sports seats are upholstered in a combination of suede and leatherette and come with heating and massage functions.

Other premium highlights include ambient interior lighting, a 10.25-inch digital driver's display, a head-up display, and a large 12.9-inch central infotainment screen. The infotainment system is paired with an 11-speaker Canton audio setup, while connectivity options include wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, along with a wireless charging pad.

The Octavia RS also features a 360-degree camera, three-zone automatic climate control, a powered tailgate, and a comprehensive ADAS suite. Safety is top-notch with 10 airbags as standard.

DriveSpark Thinks

Over the years, the Octavia RS has earned cult status among driving enthusiasts in India, thanks to its blend of everyday usability and thrilling performance. The 2025 model continues this legacy, combining more power, richer features, and sharper design.

With all 100 units already sold out even before its price announcement, the Octavia RS has once again proven that it holds a special place in the hearts of enthusiasts who crave performance without compromising on practicality.
