Skoda Kodiaq Lounge Launched At Rs 39.99 Lakh: Sits Below Sportline And L&K
Skoda has launched a new entry-level option for its flagship SUV, the Kodiaq. This new base variant is called the Kodiaq Lounge, and it has been priced at Rs 39.99 lakh (ex-showroom).
That said, the Lounge trim sits below the Sportline and Laurin & Klement (L&K) variants, offering a slightly pared-back feature list while retaining the same mechanical package. With GST 2.0 revisions in place, the Kodiaq variants now range between Rs 39.99 lakh and Rs 45.96 lakh.

Positioning & Price Advantage
The Kodiaq Lounge undercuts the Sportline by Rs 3.77 lakh and the range-topping L&K by Rs 5.97 lakh. This strategic pricing makes the SUV more accessible while still placing it above rivals like the Citroën C5 Aircross (Rs 37.32 lakh) and the Hyundai Tucson (Rs 27.32-33.64 lakh), though it remains less expensive than the Volkswagen Tiguan R Line (Rs 45.73 lakh).
Exterior Tweaks & Colours
On the outside, the Lounge variant distinguishes itself with 18-inch Mazeno alloy wheels, a simpler yet stylish choice compared to the larger designs on higher trims. Buyers can pick from 3 colors—Moon White, Magic Black, and Graphite Grey—while premium shades like Race Blue, Velvet Red, Steel Grey, and Bronx Gold remain exclusive to the Sportline and L&K models.
Interior Space & Features
Inside, the biggest change is the 5-seat configuration, which allows for a cavernous 786-litre boot, far exceeding the 281 litres available in the 7-seat variants. The cabin features grey faux-suede and fabric upholstery and a two-spoke steering wheel, giving the Lounge a more understated feel.
Feature omissions compared to the pricier trims include gesture control for the powered tailgate, a 360-degree camera, the 12.9-inch touchscreen, and the premium 13-speaker Canton audio system. Instead, the Lounge offers a 10.4-inch touchscreen paired with a 100W 9-speaker sound system, retaining essential technology without excessive frills.
Powertrain Details
Mechanically, the Lounge variant is identical to its siblings. It uses the familiar 204hp, 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox with all-wheel drive. This ensures that, despite its lower price point and fewer creature comforts, the Lounge delivers the same capable performance and sure-footed handling that Kodiaq buyers expect.
