Škoda Auto Celebrates European Diversity Month And Highlights Inclusion Efforts In Latest Report

Škoda Auto has been actively participating in European Diversity Month for five years. This initiative by the European Commission promotes diversity, inclusion, and equal opportunities in workplaces and society. This year's theme, "Your bubble is one of many. Get to know others," encouraged people to explore new perspectives for better empathy and connection.

Throughout May, Škoda Auto organised various events to celebrate diversity. The company introduced the Elroq Respectline, a concept car symbolising its dedication to inclusion. Employees engaged in panel discussions, online events, and activities aligned with Škoda's mission of being a place for everyone, based on humanity, respect, and openness.

Employees interacted with themed booths run by employee resource groups like Škoda Proud and Women@Work. The event also launched the HandBike Challenge in partnership with Cesta za snem, supporting people with disabilities.

Škoda Auto's commitment to equity, diversity, and human rights is embedded in its Next Level Škoda Strategy. In collaboration with the KOVO trade union, the company aims to create a corporate culture that meets diverse workforce needs. In 2024, it exceeded its target for women in management roles, reaching 20.4%.

The company's DEI initiatives are part of its broader ESG framework. An independent assessment gave Škoda an above-average score of 94% in DEI. The latest Diversity Report details these achievements and ongoing efforts.

Partnerships and Global Reach

Škoda Auto partners with organisations promoting openness and acceptance across society, including Prague Pride Festival and Czechitas. The company aims to be among Europe's top five best-selling brands by the decade's end through attractive offers in entry-level segments and electric models.

Škoda operates three production plants in the Czech Republic and has capacities in China, Slovakia, India, Vietnam, and Ukraine through partnerships. It employs around 40,000 people globally and is active in nearly 100 markets.

Focus on Employee Engagement

During Diversity Month, employees participated in interviews and discussions on topics like neurodiversity awareness and inclusive language. Events like Fun&Run encouraged informal connections outside work. Maren Gräf from Škoda Auto stated: "Diversity is the foundation of who we are at Škoda Auto."

"Every individual is unique," Gräf continued. "It is our responsibility to ensure that everyone is treated fairly." She emphasised that embracing diversity leads to creative solutions meeting customer needs.

The company's strategy includes developing components like MEB battery systems for Volkswagen Group brands. It delivered over 926,000 vehicles worldwide in 2024 across its 12 passenger car model ranges.

Škoda Auto's ongoing commitment to diversity reflects its vision for a respectful workplace culture built on inclusion and equitable opportunities for all employees.
