Six Nissan And INFINITI Models Achieve Recognition In 2025 American-Made Index
Six vehicles from Nissan and INFINITI have been recognised on the 2025 Cars.com American-Made Index. This annual ranking highlights vehicles that significantly contribute to the U.S. economy through production, sourcing, and employment. The 2025 Nissan Pathfinder leads at No. 20, followed by Murano (No. 59), Altima (No. 60), INFINITI QX60 (No. 65), Frontier (No. 71), and Rogue (No. 98). These rankings reflect Nissan Group's dedication to U.S. manufacturing and investment in American workers.
"Six vehicles making the list shows how deeply Nissan is invested in assembling vehicles where we sell, and doing it with quality," said David Johnson, regional senior vice president, Manufacturing, Supply Chain Management and Purchasing, Nissan Americas. "This recognition underscores our dedication to delivering high-quality vehicles in the U.S. and supporting thousands of American jobs."

All six models are assembled in the United States, where Nissan began its manufacturing operations in 1983 and INFINITI in 1989. The Pathfinder, Rogue, Murano, and INFINITI QX60 are produced at Nissan's Smyrna facility in Tennessee. Last year alone, this facility assembled nearly 101,500 Pathfinder vehicles, 143,800 Rogue vehicles, and 32,000 INFINITI QX60 vehicles.
The Murano started U.S. production in 2014 and moved to Smyrna in 2020; it is nearing a milestone of producing 700,000 units. The Pathfinder, Murano, and INFINITI QX60 are exclusively assembled in the U.S., while Altima and Frontier have been produced domestically since the 1990s.
Altima production shifted to Canton, Mississippi in 2004 while Frontier followed in 2012. In Canton last year, over 124,300 Altima vehicles and more than 77,500 Frontier vehicles were assembled. Engines for all six models are manufactured at Nissan's powertrain plant located in Decherd, Tennessee.
The Smyrna, Canton, and Decherd plants form crucial parts of Nissan Group's North American operations. These facilities employ nearly 13,000 skilled workers collectively representing a $14.9 billion investment that significantly boosts local economies.
American-Made Index Criteria
The Cars.com American-Made Index evaluates several factors: final assembly location; percentage of U.S. and Canadian parts; country of origin for engines and transmissions; and the U.S. manufacturing workforce relative to the automaker's footprint.
Patrick Masterson from Cars.com noted that "Nissan and INFINITI's performance on this year's American-Made Index reflects the brands' strong manufacturing presence in the U.S." He added that these models support U.S jobs while meeting diverse needs like family SUVs or luxury crossovers.
More than 400 model-year 2025 vehicles were analysed for this index but only a hundred made it onto the final list—highlighting how significant Nissan’s achievement is within this competitive landscape.
