Brandon Semenuk And Keaton Williams Set Winning Pace At 2025 Sno*Drift Rally
Brandon Semenuk, a three-time American Rally Association (ARA) champion, and co-driver Keaton Williams began the 2025 ARA season with a victory for Subaru Motorsports USA. They secured first place at the Sno*Drift Rally in Michigan. The pair aims to win their fourth consecutive ARA title at the upcoming Rally in the 100 Acre Wood in Missouri on March 14-15.
The 2025 Sno*Drift Rally presented colder conditions compared to the previous year, which lacked snow. This time, temperatures ranged from the teens to twenties, ensuring plenty of snow for competitors. Semenuk commented, "Yeah it was pretty good this year. We actually had some snow this year which was amazing."
Underneath the fresh snow lay a layer of hard-packed snow and ice, testing drivers' skills and requiring quick reflexes. Semenuk noted, "I enjoyed it. We were a bit strategic with how we approached it, trying to find a good pace on the first passes, then just being careful when things kind of polished up. Great way to start the year."
This year's snowy conditions provided valuable racing experience for the WRX ARA25. In 2024, the car debuted full-time as WRX ARA24 but faced warmer weather at Sno*Drift. Semenuk shared his thoughts: "It was nice to play with the car a bit as well, we haven’t raced the car in snow before," adding that they gained useful insights for future races.
The cold weather did not deter fans from attending Sno*Drift this year. Bonfire Alley was particularly lively, with parties continuing late into the night as drivers passed by. The excitement now shifts to Missouri for the Rally in the 100 Acre Wood on March 14-15.
